Either you do as she says, or they won’t last! Experience, numbers, facts suggest that you should look for things that are substantial. When it comes down to proper work, actual concerns and questions will be different, less theoretical, more pragmatic and connected to our realities: - are we getting things done? - are we solving problems? - are we realibale? - are we trustworthy? - are we honest? - are we adding value? - are we effective? - are we aware that our livelihoods depend on our outcomes? - are we establishing sustainable relationships? And so it would go on. Hire for actual🔥, not just simple 🧨

I just can't review them anymore -- I don't have time on top of our M&A advisory and exec events. We've had some great candidate convos, but the search continues! Attention, hiring managers. Please put some thought into why someone should want to do the role you’re hiring for. I know you want someone who ticks all of your boxes. Who has all the skills and experience that will let them ‘hit the ground running’ (essentially, someone who has done the exact same job somewhere else). But if you’re going to attract that person, or someone close to it, you need to think about, and communicate, why they would want to do it. Hint - helping YOU achieve what YOU want is probably not going to be that motivating for them.
