Finding the best care for your loved one can be exhausting. Our goal is to make the process easier and less stressful. Here are some valuable tips for finding the right senior care options: 1. Conduct Thorough Community Reviews: When researching senior living options, ensure you conduct detailed inspections. Meet with the staff, engage with residents, and review state inspection reports to confirm the quality of care. 2. Explore a Variety of Care Choices: From Independent Living to Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing, explore the different types of care available to find the right fit for your loved one’s unique needs. 3. Seek Customized Support: Consider arranging community tours, asking comprehensive questions, and understanding the paperwork and negotiations involved. Having a clear roadmap can guide you every step of the way. 4. Understand the Costs and Services: Be aware that some placement services may be complimentary, as they are paid by the care communities. However, if a community is not part of a network, there may be potential fees, so it's essential to ask upfront. We aim to help you simplify your search for the best care, taking the stress out of finding the perfect choice for your loved one. ❤️ #SeniorCare #AssistedLiving #SeniorLiving #ElderlyCare #CareOptions #ExpertGuidance

Why is 'How we do care here' not discussed on most tours of a Residential Aged Care Homes? On average each year at least 50% of the care homes that are mystery shopped by our team do not explain how care is done in their Homes when unprompted. When promoted 2/3's of that sample size don't go into any detail other than they deliver daily needs care. This is true for a part of it but there is so much more. Care is the core product of a Care Home. Having admissions team poorly equipped to discuss this fall at the feet of the provider. The methodology of how to care for an elderly Australian doesn't greatly change for site to site but even with the odd nuisance of philosophy of care we as an industry should be able to articulate something for new consumers of care services. Some basic's of do's and don'ts. Do 🙂 Mandated care minutes per resident's care needs. 🙂 Registered and trained staff. 🏋 Systems and processes to enable more efficient and transparent care. ☕ Assist in daily living needs, hygiene, feeding etc. Don't do 🏥 One on one acute care. 🚚 Lock people up. Now as a caveat yes there has been some bad examples of poor care and delivery of services. This post is to highlight the need for admissions teams to really understand how care is delivered in the Homes and highlight this to the tour party. This sets expectations early and puts a positive step forward for the resident's experience in care. #agedcare #training #leadership #care #registerednurse

A recent article from McKnight's Senior Living recently reported, a circuit court judge denied an operator’s move to dismiss a substandard care complaint. The reason? He said that assisted living communities are not qualified to call themselves healthcare players because they are not licensed as nursing homes or hospitals, nor do they employ licensed healthcare providers to “primarily” render healthcare services. What are your thoughts on this? Should #assistedliving communities qualify as healthcare players? #assistedlivingcommunity #seniorliving #seniorcare #longtermcare #healthcareproviders #healthcareplayers #mcknights #cinematichealth
So, senior living isn’t healthcare after all?
