“The Impact of the Knights of Columbus on Local Communities”
The Knights of Columbus, a global Catholic fraternal organization, plays a vital role in enriching local communities through charitable works and volunteerism. Rooted in the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, the organization supports numerous initiatives, including feeding the hungry, helping those in financial need, and aiding disaster-stricken areas. Their dedication ensures that vulnerable individuals and families receive essential resources, fostering a spirit of hope and resilience within communities.
One of the Knights’ most significant contributions is their focus on family and faith-based programs. Through initiatives like “Coats for Kids” and support for pregnancy resource centers, the Knights provide tangible aid to families while promoting values of dignity and respect. They also organize events such as blood drives, free health screenings, and scholarships for students, strengthening community ties and empowering future generations. These efforts demonstrate their commitment to addressing both immediate needs and long-term growth in their communities.
Beyond material support, the Knights of Columbus bring a sense of unity and moral leadership to the communities they serve. Their advocacy for life, education, and religious freedom reinforces shared values and inspires others to take part in meaningful causes. By combining action with faith, the Knights create a ripple effect of generosity, encouraging others to contribute and build stronger, more compassionate neighborhoods. Their presence reminds us that collective effort can lead to transformative change
Together our future is great!

Proud to be an Alumni of Consumer, Apparel, & Retail Studies Department at UNCG! Congratulations Class of 2024. It's hard to believe that I graduated over 33yrs ago from the "G." I was literally the first Auto-cad Computer class. We literally with the teacher had to figure it out together. That experience taught me that it's not what you know, that always gets you to the next level but that you have the aptitude, inquisitiveness and that you are willing to find a way in the dark. The professor was transparent and admitted that she had not been trained on the program. She thought it was a great display of team effort to create our own mode of operation and push each other into the 21st Century of Tech. Around that same time "Prodigy" was the brain child of Sears and Roebuck company that attempted to move into the age of the internet but they were too early and only had a hint of what was to come. Had they forged that path a little longer they may have become the Amazon of today. Sears formerly was the King of Retail Communication sending out the infamous Christmas Sears & Roebuck catalog every year. They almost remained the King of the Hill. Lesson: Into the dark we all may go but he who creates the flashlight or a flash of light will become the bolt that drives your mission into the next dimension. #foodforthought#sears#amazon#retail#missiondriven#uncg#whatsnext#innovation#ingenuity#human#thoughleaders#brainstorming
