To add to Dai's post I just wanted to give a big SHOUT OUT to everyone that was involved pre-PS. Although it's quite a few years ago now, we had a brilliant team working on L663. Too many to mention but they know who they are! From Vehicle Engineering and Packaging to the CoC's, everyone played a part in making the new Defender what it is today. Rumour had it that L663 was the tenth attempt at replacing the original Defender. The old Landy was a very hard act to follow! It has to be said that without the passion, drive and influence of a certain Nick Rogers, the new Defender probably wouldn't have seen the light of day! What I find most satisfying is that the vehicle we see on the roads today is virtually unchanged from the original concept we developed in APC. Given the amount of time I spent in bucks, looking at CAD screens etc, it's quite ironic that I've yet to step foot in a production vehicle. I do read as many reviews as possible and virtually all things the press love about the vehicle materialised pre-PS. There surely can't be a better acknowledgement of all the great work done by that team than the reaction this vehicle has received. Something else was captured in that initial development phase that's more difficult to define in technical specifications and attribute charts, i.e. character! Personally I think the character of the vehicle is a result of JLR engineering magic! The passion that was sparked all those years ago has flourished and the results are clear for all to see 👏

Has the traffic in #huntsville gotten worse over the years? What about other cities in #alabama? Interestingly, one Alabama highway that likely all of us have traveled has ranked in the top 10 of a recent survey by Gunther Volvo Cars in Daytona. The stretch of I-65 that passes through Birmingham has come in at No. 6 for "America's Most Loathed Highways," with Hwy. 280 in the same area coming in at No. 73! Both of these passes are primarily "lamented" due to their intense congestion, and namely for I-65, the continuous construction projects worsening the matter. While we're all familiar with just how congested the Research Park and Memorial Parkway areas can get as everybody heads home during the week, it seems like it could surely be worse!
