Turkmenistan Seeks Foreign Investors for Caspian Shelf Exploration and Development 👀 Turkmenistan plans to attract foreign companies to the exploration and development of fields on the Caspian Sea shelf, said the country’s ambassador to Russia Esen Aydogdiev. Turkmenistan will hold an international forum on attracting foreign investment in the energy sector on April 24-25 in Paris (France). The main focus of the upcoming forum will be on attracting investment in offshore blocks N21 and N23, West Cheleken, optimizing production at mature fields and developing the next stage of development of the giant Galkynysh field. With estimated hydrocarbon resources exceeding 71 billion tons of oil equivalent, Turkmenistan stands as the world's fourth-largest natural gas reserve holder, following Russia, Iran, and Qatar. 🌍 Turkmenistan is actively developing fields on the Caspian Sea shelf and onshore in the Balkan region. Turkey plans to set up an operating joint venture between state-run Botas and Russia’s Gazprom for a proposed gas hub in the country. Minister Alparslan Bayraktar discussed the hub at a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum last week. He also met with Natural Resources Minister Alexander Kozlov to discuss exploration, production and trade in metals, as Ankara seeks to expand the hub to include a financial center focusing on investments in energy and mining. Algeria Revives Niger Oil Exploration with Sonatrach-Sonidep Partnership Algeria’s state oil company Sonatrach is set to restart exploration activities in Niger’s Kafra block, after making two significant heavy oil discoveries in 2018 and 2019. The partnership with Niger's Sonidep aims to overcome the challenges posed by the heavy and waxy nature of these finds, which include 268 million barrels of proven and probable reserves. Harouge Oil Operations has successfully increased production at the Farigh field to 1,600 barrels per day (bpd). 📈 This achievement is part of NOC's ongoing strategy to enhance production rates across its operations. 🌍 National Oil Corporation highlighted the efforts of the Petroleum Engineering Department at Harouge Oil Operations. 🛢️ The department successfully raised production from the AA-10 well in the Farigh field, located in the Amal concession, from an initial 250 bpd to 1,600 bpd. This significant increase is expected to rise further upon the completion of all necessary work on the well. Aramco now estimates that Jafurah unconventional onshore natural gas field contains a total resource of 229 tcf of raw gas, alongside an estimated 75 bbl stb of condensate. “Reserve booking practices were assessed through establishing continuity of resources and consistency of performance.
