Lots of talk around using Carbon free ammonia as fuel in gas turbines for power generation. Here some interesting results (we think...) stemming from the LowEmission Centre on combustion of cracked ammonia fuels at high pressure (as in gas turbines), in open access. The paper (https://lnkd.in/dC_gaCb9) highlights the NOx challenges, but also the benefits of operating under high pressure. We need however to further understand how far we can stretch that advantage, back to work... Inge Saanum

📢 THIS JUST IN: MAN Energy Solutions (MAN ES) and its licensee Mitsui E&S have unlocked a new milestone in the #maritime industry with the world’s first #hydrogen combustion operation of a large two-stroke marine engine. Mitsui E&S confirmed greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions of up to 95%, with the remaining fraction originating from the pilot-fuel employed during testing. #shipping #alternativefuel #decarbonization https://lnkd.in/gMvfkkC8
