2023 Highlight #5: In 2023, I had the honor of organizing CABA's distinguished Annual Judicial Forum and Luncheon, where we completely revamped the event to celebrate and honor 18 remarkable Hispanic women judges from across Florida's state and federal courts. This event was a powerful testament to our commitment to recognizing and elevating the contributions of Hispanic women in the legal profession. As a follow up to the event, I authored the below comment and call to action, which was published by the Daily Business Review! The lesson? Empowerment is a catalyst for positive change within the legal profession.

⚖️ Helping Businesses Access Quality Legal Support 🤝| Champion of Women in Law 👩⚖️ | Thought Leader 📚 | Workplace Culture Change Advocate | Top B-Corp Founder | Keynote Speaker | Honorary Doctorate x 2
🙌 100,000+ women solicitors in England & Wales - isn't that just an amazing statistic 🥳 In 105 years we went from *0* women in law to over *100k* and I am so proud to be one of the 5 elected members to represent women solicitors The Law Society Council - together with Hannah Bekon Helen Chen Danielle Cohen Karen Bexley we try to make sure your voices are heard in the decisions made in relation to the future of women in the legal profession - each of us come with a different experience, from qualifying in the City to building our own legal businesses so we can help - just get in touch with any questions, concerns and ideas Last week it was a joy to spend some time interviewing many women solicitors for projects and to hear of their remaining challenges, especially in relation to rising to leadership and building the business book needed for partnership - I learnt so much! It was also great to champion all things DEI during the Council meeting and ensure that Council sets the strategy and takes into account the new demographic of the profession, including the incredible rise of women solicitors. There are now 43 women on Council itself, including many awesome women from Louise D. Shainul Kassam Muntech Kaur Shama Gupta Melinda Giles Alex Wilson Daria Dybov Lizzy Lim (née Trueman) Nina Ferris Nicola Rubbert Salma Maqsood CORDELLA BART-STEWART OBE and many, many more - we're not quite yet at 50% of Council so in the coming elections, please do run for elections either in your practice area, geography or any of the other seats that are available - I will share here info on any future elections! Friday, to end the week, I caught up with Aedamar Comiskey at my old firm - what a treat! I am very partial to a woman first, as I am sure everyone here knows... but it was refreshing to meet a woman leader in law who isn't afraid to *own* it and ensure a strong legacy for future generations #womeninlaw #womensolicitors #lawsociety #change #next100years
