One of our Krazies, Tiffany Bixler, has been fostering puppies and rescue dogs with an incredible amount of love and dedication. 🐶❤️ We've asked Tiffany to create a wishlist of goodies and essentials for the pups, and we'd love to share it with the KCL community on LinkedIn. If anyone would like to lend a hand, check out the list linked in comments.

for all our dog lovers out there, Do not feed stray dogs anywhere you feel like. Yes, you heard us right. While it's absolutely great to be feeding them, there are specific guidelines you should be following when you do so. Here are some quick ones, you can keep in mind : • feed strays at designated areas • don't feed dogs in among the crowd or in a group of children around. • don't feed all the dogs at the same place. • don't force a pup to eat. feed them as much as they wish. • be kinder at all times. Make sure you take these necessary precautions and you're all set to go. Check the comments to find a full article on the "not to-do's" and follow PRAVI for more such posts! #pravi #volunteering #dogs #socialwork #community

Career Coach | Empowering mid-career professionals to pivot toward career fulfillment and financial stability with coaching grounded in behavioral science | Top 15 Coaches in 2022 and 2023 (Influence Digest)
Over the weekend, this little nugget arrived at our home. A six-month old French Bulldog puppy who had been surrendered by her owner and needed rescuing 🐶 💕 I volunteer for a Bulldog rescue here in Florida. As a foster parent for dogs in need, we take them into our home, rehabilitate them medically and behaviorally, and prepare them for adoption into their fur-ever home. Volunteering is one of those acts that fills my cup. I get to make a difference for dogs in need and also help match them with their perfect adopters. The addition of a new dog in the adopters' homes fills their life with joy, and it feels good to extend my ripple effect of joy in a different way besides the work I do in my professional life. Having a healthy #worklifebalance is one of the reasons why I am able to volunteer. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Giving back in meaningful ways is important to me. It helps me live a more fulfilled life. Being a mom to a human was not in the cards for me, but being a mom to precious doggies in need is... and I love it 💖 If you #volunteer for an organization that brings you a sense of #fulfillment, I'd love to know about it in the comments. What is the purpose of the organization? What do you do to help them achieve their mission? Why does it fill your cup? How can others get involved if they feel called to do so?

NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK VOLUNTEER SHOUTOUT: There are so many wonderful volunteers who dedicate their time to our lifesaving mission, and today we wanted to take a moment to thank longtime Lucky Dog Foster Katie Noble. In her own words, “I was first introduced to Lucky Dog in the summer of 2012 when I began searching for my first dog. I ended up adopting Kaylee, a pit mix, that September. After she settled in, I fostered a few Lucky Dogs on occasion, but really got into the foster mom life in 2017. Since then, I have fostered 250+ puppies, dogs, and kittens, and adopted another Lucky Dog in 2023. My volunteer work with Lucky Dog has become a significant part of my identity. The job is more than just cuddles and kisses: it's the satisfaction of seeing each animal find their humans. It's knowing that, by taking in a litter of puppies, I'm making room for another litter to take their place in the shelter. It's getting to know all these animals as individuals. Everyone wants to find a "purpose" in life, something that defines them - rescue is mine, and some of my greatest personal achievements have been made possible due to Lucky Dog. To anyone considering volunteer work with Lucky Dog, I say this: even the smallest contribution is invaluable to these animals. They always need a driver to get them to adoption events or vet appointments. They always need a human to hold their leash while they meet potential families. Documents need to be printed and travel crates need to be cleaned. Donations don't have to be extravagant - the #1 item I use on a daily basis is paper towels! The process of pulling an animal from the shelter and finding them the perfect home requires so many people doing so many different types of jobs, and all of them are absolutely necessary. Whatever your "best" is: it's more than enough to make a difference.” #IAmLuckyDog #WhyIVolunteer #NationalVolunteerWeek #Gratitude #TuesdayThoughts

🐾🏠 June is National Foster a Pet Month, and at Pathways Counseling Services, we want to highlight the incredible benefits of fostering animals for both the pets and your mental health! Did you know that having a furry companion can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression? 🐶💕 Fostering a pet is a temporary arrangement that involves providing a loving home for an animal in need until they're ready for adoption. It's a rewarding experience that allows you to make a positive impact on an animal's life while enjoying the companionship and unconditional love they offer. 🤗🐱 Many people avoid fostering because they lack information or fear the emotional attachment. However, fostering is a crucial step in helping homeless animals find their forever homes. By providing a safe and nurturing environment, you're preparing them for a successful adoption. 🙏💖 At Pathways Counseling Services, we understand the power of the human-animal bond in promoting mental well-being. Whether you're fostering a playful puppy or a cuddly kitten, the experience can bring joy, purpose, and a sense of fulfillment to your life. 🐾😊 This National Foster a Pet Month, we encourage you to consider opening your heart and home to a furry friend in need. If you're not ready to foster, you can still support the cause by spreading awareness, donating to local animal shelters, or volunteering your time. 📣🐾 Remember, every small act of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of these precious animals. If you're considering fostering or need support on your mental health journey, Pathways Counseling Services is here for you. 🤝💙 #NationalFosterAPetMonth #FosteringSavesLives #MentalHealthMatters #PetTherapy #PathwaysCounselingServices #ScottsdaleAZ

Animal Advocate, Author "A VOICE FOR ANIMALS", Founder of Animal Law Advocacy, Retired Animal Rights Lawyer & Vegan 🌱
Turkey has introduced a new legislation for the removal of stray dogs from the streets to be captured and killed.😢 The law is controversial and has sparked widespread outrage and protests across the country. According to one survey, 3 per cent of citizens are in support, while 80 per cent want the dogs to be put in shelters. Some countries are calling for a boycott of travel to Turkey! 🙌 Effective strategies for managing stray dog populations include spay and neuter programs, community education, and adoption initiatives. Spay and neuter programs help control the population growth, while community education raises awareness about responsible pet ownership. Adoption initiatives can provide homes for stray dogs, reducing their numbers on the streets. It is not right for humans to kill homeless dogs. Every dog (homeless or not) deserves to live! ❤️ Do you have suggestions? If so, please share below! These dogs cannot speak for themselves. They need our human voices to speak up for them and protect them. 🙏

Shelter Hold Ends: 2/12/24, 4pm. Breed: Terrier x Appearance: Fawn/white Gender: Female Estimated Age: 3yrs Estimated Weight: 45lbs Health: No obvious issues besides having larger mammaries from previous puppies. She also has a few pressure spots on her lower legs that will improve once she has soft places to lay down and rest on. Bio: They don't come much prettier than Piper. We love the unique markings on her face! This sweet girl appears to have had a rough life previously. We would love to find a home for her where she doesn't have to have babies anymore and she can know what it's like to be pampered. Other Dogs: She tests well with dogs. Cats: Will do best in a home without cats. Children: We do not have kids to test with. We always recommend supervising children around dogs/puppies at all times.
