🌟 Publication alert 🌟 🎉 I’m very excited to share our new publication (in collaboration with Jan Vanhoof and Noel Clycq): Explaining Academic Optimism in Schools: The Impact of Performance Leadership and Alignment between Teachers, Students, and Parents. 🔍 This research provides strong evidence that a school leader’s deliberate emphasis on academic optimism creates significant opportunities. This leadership approach not only strengthens teachers’ trust and academic emphasis, but also enhances connections between teachers, parents, and students, positively influencing all facets of school academic optimism. In turn, this contributes to improved student performance and greater educational equity. 🏫 The findings offer practical insights for school leaders seeking to create positive change by fostering trust, setting high expectations, and building stronger relationships within the school community. 🌟 Exciting Update from Texas! 🌟 In Texas, we're proud to run a dynamic 3-year fellowship program for school leaders who are pioneering new school models with the support of the Texas Education Agency. 🎓 During the first year, fellows immerse themselves in designing their schools. As the inaugural year concludes, they begin laying the groundwork to engage their founding teams and future stakeholders. Last week, one of our planning coaches, Juan Juarez, Ph.D., had the privilege of witnessing several leaders he supports in Judson ISD and San Antonio ISD present to their founding teams and future stakeholders. Key highlights, according to Dr. Juarez: -Leaders recognize the critical importance of stakeholder involvement. -They presented to their founding leadership and grade-level teams, sharing their school mission as well as their instructional and school culture visions. -They discussed teacher competencies essential for the successful implementation of their school design plans. -A lively Q&A session allowed teams to express excitement and address lingering questions. -The overall atmosphere was incredibly positive and brimming with excitement and readiness! In April, the fellows will host another stakeholder engagement session where they'll share more details about the new school model and what to expect next year. Stay tuned for more updates on their inspiring journey! #EducationLeadership #SchoolInnovation #StakeholderEngagement #ExcitingUpdates #TexasEducation #Edchat

When considering a private school education, many people automatically think of academic excellence. However, the true measure of a quality experience at these schools goes beyond academics; it lies in cultivating tomorrow's leaders, innovators, and empathetic individuals. This is a key aspect of our discussions when I work with families who want to move their child to a different school or who are relocating. Navigating the complex landscape of educational choices involves more than simply selecting a prestigious institution where a child can accumulate knowledge. It's about identifying environments that foster growth in every sense—intellectually, morally, and socially. This guiding principle shapes our search for private schools that do more than teach; they inspire understanding, encourage responsibility, and nurture the seeds of leadership. It's a holistic approach that aims to prepare our children not only for future challenges but also for the responsibilities of shaping them. As we consider these choices, it's essential to remember that the true value of education lies not just in the knowledge gained but also in the character developed along the way. The journey is about much more than where your child will end up; it's fundamentally about who they will become in the process. By focusing on these crucial aspects of personal growth and character development, we can ensure that your child receives an education that prepares them to become well-rounded, compassionate, and capable individuals ready to impact the world positively. To learn more about how I can help you or someone you know find the perfect private school experience for a child from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, please visit https://lnkd.in/geCUDGkV #EducationalConsulting #LeadershipDevelopment #CharacterBuilding

GESA will soon publish our first webinar, diving into actionable steps school leaders can take to create a positive environment that promotes teacher retention and strengthens the entire community. Stay tuned! Why not tell us what you want us to address? We will have new roundtables with experienced leaders and teachers weekly.
