Put through its paces - The fully automated test system for end-of-line testing at #BMW  The test system is located at the Dingolfing site, the BMW Group competence center for e-drive production, and is used to test the latest generation of electrified powertrains. The remarkable thing is that it is possible to test up to eight different powertrain variants with a degree of automation of 100%.  The system is structured into two independent test sections. In the first section, the basic functions and electrical safety are checked. The second section is dedicated to the evaluation of performance. Here, the acceptance of high torques by means of Driveline is possible. Battery Pack Assembly 🔋 The packaging of battery modules used in electric vehicles involves risky processes. The electrical interconnection of high-voltage battery modules is the main factor that creates the risk. This risk can be elimated by correctly wiring the battery and correctly attaching the connectors. This is where Liebherr-Verzahntechnik GmbH, KOSTAL Kontak Systeme GmbH and KUKA together developed a technology with two KR CYBERTECH nano ARC HW robots that safely and efficiently connect high-voltage battery modules together. This innovative technology enables synchronized collaboration between two or more robots, synchronizing program and motion in real time. 🚀 Electrolux Group x ABB Robotics: Revolutionizing Manufacturing! Electrolux, a household appliance giant, has been transforming production since 1926 in Brazil. Teaming up with ABB in 2018, they automated gas leak detection in Curitiba, boosting efficiency and safety for their workers. With ABB's YuMi cobot, manual tasks became a thing of the past, improving accuracy and employee well-being. This success led to adopting the #GoFa cobot for electrical testing, eliminating disruptions and ensuring seamless production. Thanks to ABB's Wizard Easy Programming tool, integration was seamless, empowering Electrolux to optimize operations swiftly. “With the acquisition of the GoFa we had an eight percent gain in the effectiveness of tests and a reduction in unexpected stops in the multi-door refrigerator production line,” said Electrolux maintenance technician Ariel Alves, who was responsible for deploying the GoFa cobot and getting it up and running. A robot as a fellow colleague  Employees at the Ford plant in Cologne have very special colleagues: Four LBR iiwa lightweight robots from #KUKA. Without a protective fence separating them from their human colleagues, the #robots take over the application of sealants. This means that the workers no longer must take on this very monotonous, unergonomic and dirty task.    The robot colleague learns quickly  Once manually guided through the work step by a worker, the robot remembers the exact sequence of movements. LG Uplus partners with Hyundai to build Building Network for Robots LG Uplus Corp. of South Korea has collaborated with Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Robotics Lab to create a pioneering communications infrastructure ecosystem in a building designed to accommodate robots. The partnership, formalized through a deal with Hyundai Motor Group, aims to establish a comprehensive hub for robot-friendly building solutions, including bespoke communication services tailored to various robotic applications. Equipment and components used for robotics production usually need KCs Certification, also known as KOSHA Certification, in order to be approved for import and use in Korea. The initiative includes the development of communication standards and certification systems specifically for buildings optimized for use of robots. LG Uplus’s role in this venture extends to setting communication rates and crafting unique products for an array of service robots. The company focuses on constructing a robust communications network, capable of remote control operations which will enable electric vehicles to autonomously park and charge, while robots facilitate package delivery within office spaces. A key feature of this advanced environment is to ensure seamless the connectivity across different floors, a crucial feature for the efficient functioning of service robots.
