What a brilliant employment week! The idea behind employment week is for our 16+ members to enter a variety of workplace settings to explore different employability routes they might want to take. During the week our members have a chance to ask questions, experience a workplace setting and understand what a working day might feel like. If you are part of a business or know a business that would like to get involved in future employment weeks please drop me a message. #employment #employmentweek #downsyndrome
The first week of our Employment event 2024 was a huge success. Thank you to Gauntlet Birds Of Prey Eagle And Vulture Park, Carden Park Hotel, and Storyhouse Chester for hosting us. We can't wait for week two at the end of the month.

I am one of those oddballs who gets excited on a Sunday night about knowing I've got work the next day. Much to my other half's bafflement, I might add. And I thought this week would be a prime example of why. This week I have the pleasure of helping Bluebird Care define their employer brand, ODEON Cinemas Group develop their shiny new careers website, Lidl GB creatively launch their new EVP, the green light to support on a piece of work close to my heart (animal related!), all whilst finishing off judging some incredible (and numerous!) RMAward entries. And we're only halfway through the week. Yes there's a lot to do, no it's not always plain sailing, but it's bloomin' good fun and you know the work is having a positive impact. And yep I'm aware some is name-dropping in this post. But I'm proud of it. Proud to do what I do, to be part of a business that delivers exceptional work, and proud of the clients I get to work with. It gives Monday - Friday and beyond clear purpose. The point of this post (and of employer branding in general) is simply, I hope everyone can do something they love, and as the old cliché goes, it shouldn't then feel like work. This week, we hosted a virtual all-staff meeting at D'Ieteren, and I couldn't be more proud of the incredible teamwork and engagement from everyone involved. 10 of our talented colleagues took the stage, while another 10 worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly. We spent an hour discussing key topics and answering live questions from our colleagues. It was truly inspiring to see hundreds of you online, actively participating and sharing your thoughts. This event was a fantastic way to wrap up the first semester of the year, and it's clear that this won't be the last time we come together like this. Thank you to everyone who made this possible and to all who joined us. Here's to many more successful and collaborative sessions ahead!

Might be a simple picture, but behind the scenes it means a lot. I really enjoyed our Summer camp marketing and schedule meeting last Friday. After years of planning the majority of the company and its ideas on my own - to adding a few faces in along the way - its so nice to get to the point where you bring together a team (across different sections and programs of the company). Everyone comes to the meeting enthusiastic, with great ideas, they listen and bounce ideas off each other and, importantly, we leave the meeting with a clear idea and goal to achieve over the next week. It's great to sit back and listen to their great ideas and then plan to implement them this summer. Our summer offering is taking another huge evolutionary step into how, and what, we do at our camps. We are not talking just short term, ideas and the implementation of them, will forge what holiday camps, and other areas of the company, will look like for the near future. I love listening to the staffs ideas and hearing that enthusiasm and excitement for them. Makes us all feel like part of the same team, working together. #staffmeeting #marketing #ideas #future

🎉✨Factbird Day Recap! 🎉✨ What a fantastic Factbird day and summer party we had on Friday! Going through the pictures, I can already tell that everyone had an absolute blast... We had a mix of activities lined up - starting with a workshop, followed by thoughtful conversations about our vision and direction. The day wrapped up with an exciting scavenger hunt and a team tour around Copenhagen harbor. Our values shined throughout the day... 🌟Owning it: Empowering each other to make a real impact on our customers. ⚒️Know our customers: Engaging discussions with consultants from Emendo Consulting Group to deepen our understanding further. 🤝 Collaborate and communicate freely: open dialogues, and a culture where everyone's voice is not just heard but valued. 🚀Always be better: Embracing a culture of continuous learning and striving for excellence. 🥳Have fun: building trust, establishing relationships, and exploring creative ways of working together—integrating these into our day to day. It's moments like these that remind us of the incredible values that make Factbird such a special place to work. Here's to many more moments ahead! 🎈

Summer is coming….. I’ve spent a lot of time and energy connecting with folks who work in #manufacturing specifically those in Eastern Wisconsin. If you’ve been getting messages from me recently this post is for you. Summer is the perfect time to tell your employees you appreciate the work they do. It’s a great time to get everyone outside to breathe in some fresh air and feel some sunshine on their skin. I want to help you with that. Longhouse Sheboygan is taking orders for employee appreciation events for summer. We have: -Mobile Axe Lanes -Mobile escape room (outdoor capable) -Catering options from $14-18 delivered and setup -Bar options (to the extent my liquor license allows) We also have very competitive pricing if I do say so myself. A $50/person budget for a 100 person company could get you quite a bit. We are a small operation that’s been scrapping pretty hard to survive since we opened in Oct 2020, when Covid was at its worst. Our survival is a testament to hard work, and I learned my work ethic in Wisconsin - where we WORK. We work hard because not working hard hardly seems worth it. Your employees work hard because their is pride in a job well done. Hard work should make you tired. Hard work should make you hungry. My homemade meals for workers speak appreciation for craft. When you want to say thank you with food, drink, and fun I’ll work my hardest to make sure your folks feel it. I don’t know how not to.

Egg Drop Challenge 🥚🤔 In Surf Office, we constantly gather customer feedback about the best team-building activities during the company offsites. Most teams usually choose something casual like cooking, walking tours, or e-bike trips. But there is one surprising activity I've heard about a couple of times: the "egg drop challenge" It's pretty simple: 1️⃣ You divide your team into groups of 3-5 people 2️⃣ Each team receives a few eggs 3️⃣ Then they must design and build a structure that will prevent their egg from breaking when dropped from the second floor of the building on the concrete 4️⃣ You can provide some materials (tapes, straws, papers, etc.) or leave them to improvise with whatever they can find 5️⃣ The team that can do it first wins Once, I heard the feedback that "This is the best team-building activity we've ever done". I want to try this challenge at our next company offsite in December.
