💙 Time to Talk 💙 Talking about mental health isn’t easy but a conversation has the power to save lives. There should always be time to talk. Did you know 1 in 6 people in the UK report experiencing anxiety or depression each week. Here are some tips to consider when starting a conversation: 🔷 Ask open questions and really listen to the response 🔷 Have patience, it may take time and several conversations 🔷 Don’t try to fix or diagnose The more conversations we have around mental health the better. Support myself and the OneSource team as we do the Miles for Smiles challenge in February. Each of us will run, walk or cycle 30 miles in order to raise money for Mind. Our Go fund me page is linked below 💙 #timetotalk #milesforsmiles #conversations #mentalhealthawareness

You know how to make a difference Briggs Equipment UK Ltd! That’s why the NSPCC wants to become your next charity partner. By working together, we can make a real difference by raising the vital funds needed to stop child abuse, which half a million children in the UK suffer each year. Just imagine, your support could help enable the NSPCC to answer the calls made to Childline - one child calls us every 45 seconds! These calls really do make a difference to the children who call us. What we ask of the team at Briggs Equipment UK, is that you vote for the NSPCC to be your charity of the year, resulting in you leaving a legacy for children in the UK. You can support the NSPCC too by sharing this post with your Briggs Equipment UK colleagues and contacts. Thanks. #MakeADifference #CharityOfTheYear #NSPCC

Workplace consultant with 25+ years of experience in using technology to turn offices into dynamic, efficient, and happy workplaces
This picture is from a ride I did a few weeks ago, and I think it relates very much to my charity project... 👇 "Opportunities don't happen, you create them" As you might know, I am carrying out, all through this year, a very special project: #505. To celebrate my 50th birthday (which was a few weeks ago), I am taking on 5 epic cycling challenges in hopes of raising £5,000 for The William Wates Memorial Trust. WWMT supports around 20-25 charity projects focused on helping young people in really tough situations. Right now there are 21 different charities under their umbrella doing incredible work across the UK, with activities that range from education, arts, work skills and sports. You can see the full list on their website: https://buff.ly/3UnMqZB These charities provide crucial resources, support, and opportunities for kids and teens facing major challenges like poverty, homelessness, abuse, and more. A harsh reality that no one should ever face, but that we can help to change. Having raised funds and volunteered with WWMT before, I can confirm that the impact of their work is immeasurable and deeply inspiring. And, by chipping in whatever you can to my fundraiser, you'll be helping WWMT keep these lifelines up and running. Opportunities don't happen, we create them. And we can do that for those who desperately need them. Even a few bucks goes a long way when we all come together. The more we can raise, the more young lives get impacted in a positive way during their darkest times. So if you've got some spare change lying around, or just feel like kicking in what you can, it would mean the world. Let's make this Friday extra rewarding: https://buff.ly/3V76hNC

When the wishes of the VOCAL minority take over the well being of the Majority - we end up with dictatorship. Watch what happened with Bangla Desh and what will happen to United Kingdom. Dictatorship in a 'civilized/ democratic country can be simple as two tier policing. The same happens in a business when we start catering for ALL minorities - we end up with a lower standard. The basic rule in business is survival of the fittest. The businesses are not there as a charity - although charities are a business - so if you are of a 'special group' then set up a business for that group and be a success: BUT don't expect ALL businesses to cater for you.

Since joining Prosperity 24/7, I've come to realise that there's not much that brings us together like a good Love to Ride challenge. We managed to top our respective leaderboards in the recent May challenge, although Greener Kirkcaldy gave us an excellent run for our money. We got new people involved in the challenge, we saved an estimated 546lb CO2 through cycling instead of driving and as well as cheering on our usual stalwarts, I also discovered which colleagues will come through last thing on a Friday and undertake a round-the-island-cycle for the extra miles... Sure, winning is fun but what's really nice is to see the behaviour changes starting to take root in the segment of our company that aren't die-hard cyclists (and I include myself in that). Last September I noted that I'm a reluctant cyclist but I'm becoming less reluctant and more willing to do that commute by bicycle. I've also noticed our bike store becoming busier and less frequent cyclists populating the Love to Ride feed more often. That's no mean feat. As someone who deals with change while delivering projects, change isn't always easy to embed but I've always been a fan of gamification as motivation in the right settings. And one of those right settings will be Prosperity Day in September, when our colleagues and clients will compete for bragging rights but also for the much better reason of raising money for charity - this year, we're supporting Healing Waves UK and Jersey Hospice Care - two very deserving charities. So, if you want to do your part, why not sign up for or donate to the tenth Prosperity Day? https://lnkd.in/eFAaUGGf #Lovetoride #change #prosperityday #healingwaves #hospice #charity #cycling
It's #WorldBicycleDay! So what better day to tell you that the 10th edition of Prosperity Day is ready to launch! 🚀 So far we've raised £160,000 for charity and this year we want to raise £40,000 for Jersey Hospice Care and Healing Waves UK Our annual charity fundraising event sees corporate rivals go ‘head to head to head’ in a fast paced stationary cycling challenge. Using our brand new Wahoo KICKR bikes to complete a virtual 30 minute race using 3D Race technology, teams of three will compete against each other to gain race day points which are added to their all important fundraising total and will see who tops the podium. 🚴♂️ 🚴♀️ 🚴♂️ Team captains, get your team mates ready and sign up here https://lnkd.in/eCS2ijBA #GreatMindsAlways #ProsperityDay #Clients #Colleagues #Community #Charity #VentYourFury #CorporateRivalry
Prosperity Day is 10! Join us on Friday 06 September

Charity is always something I feel so passionate about, it is moments of charity from kind people towards me in the past, that have allowed me to realise there was hope in the world even in some of the darkest days. 💖 Even before this I always felt an innate desire to fundraise having fundraised from a young age (as young as junior school) for different charities. When I was about 9 I led a project in Junior School to fundraise for RSPCA When I was about 13 I petitioned for a non-school uniform day in aid of Teenage Cancer trust When I was 15 I project managed a fun-day event in my enterprise group to raise over £1000 profit for Comic Relief I have just kept finding moments to help others since then. But what truly showed me that there were so many people who felt the same innate desire to help others is when some lovely people who were complete strangers to me turned up at my door the year I fled a violent relationship with a baby and toddler, with a whole grocery shop and some gifts to help make Christmas a bit easier for me. I was kind of in shock that people were being so nice to me, but also just so full of gratitude and hope for the world. I now know that as long as the opportunity is presented to children and adults alike, we all have an innate desire to help others, and I want to ensure my business is an environment that fosters that desire. #charity #business #womeninbusiness #education #childcare #childhood #teachers #enterpreneurs #fundraising
On Friday, our Enterprise club at The Hampshire School Chelsea brought their projects to life where they donated 100% of profits to charities. One of those charities which I’ve just donated to for them was Blue Cross UK Last year they helped more than 40,000 dogs, cats, horses and if you wish you can join us in donating 😊🐶 https://lnkd.in/eVpnJV8h #edtech #Entrepreneur #enterprise #serenkids #teachers #education #lifeskills #charity #fundraising

Today is the International Day of Charity – a fantastic opportunity to recognise the amazing work carried out by charitable organisations around the world, and to make a donation if you can. We know there are lots of charities to choose from, but here’s why we’d love you to choose RAPAID: 👉 A casualty can tragically bleed to death within just three to five minutes, often before the emergency services have time to arrive. By equipping cabs with life-saving bandages, RAPAID empowers ordinary people to flag down the vital resources they need to #stopthebleed within those first, critical minutes following an injury. 👉 RAPAID's focus is on stopping the bleed. Your funding helps us extend our mission far and wide, ensuring that emergency bandage kits are accessible in a variety of public places – from schools and taxis to workplaces and other venues. By supporting RAPAID, you're contributing to building a resilient community where people are equipped to help each other in times of crisis. Together, we’re creating a safer UK, one kit at a time.
