It’s not a trade-off.  It’s not an either-or situation. You can be a present mom AND a badass businesswoman. No – the balance is not always easy. Sales is not a saturated market – ESPECIALLY life insurance sales. Will you get a lot of “no’s”? Yes. Do you need to be mentally tough? Yes. You can’t rely on bonuses, PTO, & a pat on the back to motivate you to get stuff done. I haven’t met ONE successful leader who doesn’t have a crazy high level of intrinsic motivation. In goal-setting sessions or one-on-one discussions with new agents, I always stress the importance of intrinsic motivation. It's a personal drive that NO coach or leader can provide. For me, it was breaking free from the stereotype of a broke single mom in my early sales days. I wanted to rewrite that narrative & prove the haters wrong 💁🏼♀️ That internal fire kept me going, even on the WORST days. Now don’t get me wrong… We ALL love a little holiday bonus & someone telling us that we’re doing a good job. But those things are FLEETING. Want to create some killer results? When I sit down with a new agent, or someone pressing the restart button on their sales career, we always begin with ONE question: What’s your intrinsic motivator? This isn't something a coach can hand you. It's that inner drive, unique to you, that keeps you moving forward. For me, it was breaking away from the ‘broke single mom’ stereotype. I REFUSED to be a statistic!! But what about external motivators?  Rewards, recognition, maybe the money involved? Everyone has different triggers — and once you get real and honest with what motivates you (or your team), you’re going to learn that progress will be that much more attainable. What motivates you?! What’s that thing that keeps YOU going, even on the tough days? 👇👇

Have you ever heard the saying, “'There are no shortcuts to any place worth going?'” ✅ The path might challenge you, and the road could seem long, but these experiences are what shape INCREDIBLE salespeople. It's the unwavering persistence, connection, and the ability to anticipate your clients' needs that sets you up for victory. While shortcuts might tempt us 😅 ❌ They lack the depth and substance that underpin genuine success.  ❌ They miss out on the lasting fulfillment that stems from hard-earned triumphs. Scripture says that people without a vision… Perish. And no matter what your religious beliefs are, it’s very true. In our lives & businesses, a vision is the foundational piece that gels everything together. It’s what we see happen over the coming months, years, & decades. Your vision is what pulls you into activity.  Without vision, there is no reason to act. And when I look back at my life, the thing that kept me going was the vision that I saw for my life. When I first started in insurance, I was NOT in love with the job, but the vision of my life was: "A year from now, I don't want to be on food stamps. I don't want to be the statistic of a broke single mom a year from now.  I want to have money in my bank account a year from now.  I want to be in a whole different headspace." The vision pulls you through the fiery furnace, so to speak, of the things that happen in our lives. So when things come against you, if your vision is not strong enough, you are going to fall under pressure. So if your business is weak…  And the numbers are down…  Or people are quitting…  Or the economy tanks…  And it seems like your product isn't what is necessary right now…  And all of these things that come against you… You will realize that it's the vision that you have, that determination in your vision that keeps you going 🤍
