In essence, people know they get paid a ton, but no one knows what on earth they do. The title 'prompt engineer' really doesn’t do justice to the role. One – Talking to a computer is not engineering. And two – You wouldn’t call a chef ‘stove operator’ or an artist ‘color smudger’. So why engineer a prompt? My advice to those thinking of turning prompting into a living is this:  → Mastering interactions with AI applications to drive the job you need to get done – Super Important! I cannot emphasize it enough.  → Building a career around a temporary task soon be taken over by machines – Build a more impactful career. Even though I studied Mass Communications, I've always been curious about how things work. I often wonder how everyday items like phones, cars, and computers are made. I would be amazed by the entire eco-system of it! Could i have been an engineer? I dont think so, i am not that smart 😅 However, my job in recruitment has allowed me to learn about many different industries, from chemicals and mining to heavy industry, and now semiconductors and electronics. This has given me a lot of respect for the engineers who create the amazing things that make our lives better. It's also been an honor to meet and talk to some of the smartest people in the world.
