☕Every month at ITPEnergised (part of SLR), we hold a 'Graduate Coffee Morning' where we have internal and external speakers join our graduates for an hour of inspiration and knowledge sharing. This month's Graduate Coffee Morning was a fantastic blend of inspiration and creativity! 🎨☕ Michael McKeown shared his insights on the importance of stepping out of comfort zones and being comfortable with making mistakes. But it wasn't all serious learning; the last 15 minutes of the session gave the graduates a chance to tap into their creative sides and have a little fun. Embracing our company value of curiosity, our graduates unleashed their imagination by designing their own unique monsters on Miro. It was a wonderful way to channel creativity, embody the spirit of innovation and get to know each other a little better. These gatherings are more than just meetings; they're a celebration of growth, learning, and the fun that comes with exploring new ideas. #Stand Out Charles Brewer's words still echo with profound wisdom – the key to standing out is not about wealth, status, or conformity, but rather, cultivating a remarkable personality and strength of character. It's about having the courage to go the extra mile, to push past obstacles, and to contribute in truly meaningful ways. Together with Niranjana Arullappan, we tried to have an embodiment of this ethos through an accomplishment – the creation of Career Week 2023 at Sunway International School KL. We curated a series of transformative learning experiences for students from kindergarten to high school, a four day event with many activities. We navigated the challenges of late nights, weekend research marathons, negotiations with stakeholders, and the sheer determination to see our vision through. We hope our story is a testament to the power of teamwork, resilience, and a willingness to think outside the box. We didn't let the obstacles deter us; instead, we worked to bring this vision to life, hoping to touch the lives of young minds in the process. This is the essence of standing out – it's not about seeking the limelight or conforming to societal expectations. It's about finding your own unique path, unleashing your inner strength, and using your talents to make a difference. And in doing so, you have set an inspiring example for others to follow. Celebrating a Milestone!🎖️ I just discovered I didn't share this particular milestone here, but looking back, I can say that it is a diservice to myself having withheld some defining moment in my quest for international development. It's been a year since I completed my graduate internsh ip in International Development Research, powered by the @Institute for Development Research and cordinated by Dataville Research LLC but the impact of that experience still resonates deeply in my work. I'm grateful for the opport unity to have worked with a talented team of researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, and for the skills and insights gained during that time. The experience not only deepened my understanding of global development challenges but also equipped me with the tools and knowledge to approach complex issues with confidence. My research skills, critical thinking, and policy analysis abilities have been sharpened, enabling me to contribute meaningfully to development projects and initiatives. The insights I gained on cultural context, evidence-based decision-making, and interdisciplinary approaches have been invaluable in my work. I'm proud to say that the lessons learned have shaped my approach to development work, allowing me to make a more significant impact in the lives of individuals and communities.
