Employee Gratitude!💯 This is the view from my office, which I really love and appreciate. Why from my office instead of a cubicle? 95% of my career, I have been assigned to a cubicle for my workspace. Including a time when I had a Director level position in a Fortune 200 company. It’s just what companies do, it saves money and a lot of it in most cases. At Melone Hatley, every *position in the company has an office. I can do my job in a sea of cubicles, but our leadership goes the extra expense to make sure we have a great environment to do our job. That’s really cool!🎯 Melone Hatley, P.C. is hiring! There are a lot of reasons to work here. Having an office is not even in the Top 5, but it does show how much they care about creating a first-class environment for us. *front desk / receptionist staff do not have an office.

We are #hiring, like a lot of companies. However, before you apply, consider this and determine if we are a match for you. We were struggling with our HRIS and all the manual process for our teams and managers, so we changed to a better one that supported our teams, reduced paper and hours of our managers time. We were struggling with open positions, so we created a department internally to help recruit and hire, removing 90% of the burden from our hiring managers. We were finding many candidates had no previous knowledge of our industry, let alone experience in it, so we created and grew a training department. We wanted to create back up and a larger network of support, so we reorganized one entire department creating senior level staff, regional level staff and junior level staff- pipeline careers pathways for our insight teams and creating backfill so people could take a break without coming back to disappointed customers/clients. All of these things and many more happened around 6-8 years ago, yet we continue to look daily at the problem and determine solid solutions for success. If you are a person, who believes any obstacle or problem has a solution, then you are going to #thrive in our space. If you think there is one and only way to fix something or refuse to solve and instead exist by setting up camp in a place of victim mode, we are not a good fit and you should move one. We are #creative, #passionate, #thoughtleaders who engage our teams to help us solve all our internal and industry external problems. We care, we work hard to deliver high quality value and an anaxing employee experience. Want to know more or work in a space people take action and solutions seriously? DM me or hop online to look at a variety of our postings. Yes, we all work in person. We are flexible to the needs of our lives but we are also working directly with people, so please do not reach out for remote only positions. www.cascade-management.com I would be happy to connect and answer questions via chat about any of our roles, or put you in touch with one of our awesome Talent team members! Since we've had an influx of new followers on LinkedIn recently, we thought it would be a great time to introduce a series of posts each week that highlights a different member of staff here at IN-SYNC. First up is Laura Robbins, Account Manager. Laura's job involves her looking after existing clients and managing potential growth. So let's dive in and learn all about Laura and her role at IN-SYNC! 👩🏼🔧 What was your career background before working at IN-SYNC? Property Management – 11 years with JD Wetherspoon, I started in the Pub maintenance dept and was promoted into the new build team. Facilities Management – 1-year contract with Careys assisting the newly appointed facilities Manager with office facilities in London / Wales / Scotland and Ireland - heavily compliance focused as these offices had warehouses attached. 🥇 What is the most rewarding part of your job at IN-SYNC? Helping skilled operatives understand how CIS works and advising on the other advantages there are at IN-SYNC, such as helping with Self Assessments and VAT registration if appropriate. I have such a varied role. 🤔 How would you describe working at IN-SYNC? Extremely friendly, each department is structured well. The office has a warm and positive energy. The company allows you to work in the way that suits you best and doesn’t micromanage. 1️⃣ What has been your biggest career-defining moment? Winning the 'Loo of the Year Award' for JD Wetherspoons, a project I solely worked on for a year. 🤩 What led you to this career? I wanted a change but didn’t want to step too far away from the construction arena. This gave me a new challenge with a previous knowledge base which has stood me in good stead. 🍔 Which 3 people would you invite to your celebrity dinner party (dead or alive)? Emily Pankhurst / Jill Dando / Caligula. 🧘🏼♀️ What is your ideal way to spend your weekends? With family or lunch with girlfriends. 🐈 🐕 Cats or dogs? Dogs. So there we have it! If you think Laura or or her team can help you out with your tax and VAT requirements, please get in touch. #meettheteam

THE DEFINITION OF A TEAM Jessica Abner is the Administrator at Taylor's Pointe in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bo West is her Director of Human Resources. Bo has the Foundations Core Value posted outside of her office and on new hire orientation Jessica goes in and discusses them and the Foundations Culture of Care. Jessica tries really hard to incorporate our Core Values and Culture of Care into the daily life at Taylor's Pointe. Bo shared with Jessica that last Monday when I came into a puddle of water in her office, Everlyn, the new STNA without even being asked jumped right in, got some towels and helped her clean it up. Rich does a little of everything, Maintenance, Floor Tech, Housekeeping and Laundry. Rich has a really good rapcore resident and staff throughout the building. When someone isn't happy about something they usually reach out to Rich if they can't resolve it on their own. Rich simply has a gift, he takes the time to listen, he is patient, he is committed to resolve the problem no matter how big or small or how much time it takes. He's a living example of our Culture of Care. Pictured below from left to right is: Everlyn, Jessica, Rich and Bo. It takes a team to make things happen and with mutual respect and a passion to make a difference things get accomplished, and everyone loves being a part of the team. This is Culture of Care, and I couldn't be prouder! #team #corevalues #cultureofcare #teamwork #respect #taylorspointe #makingadifference #foundationshealthsolutions #seniorcare #seniorliving

Think outside of the box when it comes to employee perks. In 2004 I made a leap from an entertainer for Universal Studios Hollywood to management. I was going to open the new Mummy Rollercoaster as a seasonal supervisor. WOW! What a change! Did I know what I was doing? NOOOOO! Lol but I knew people. As a former line employee, I knew the importance of perks to motivate a cohesive team. We had a great incentive program at the time called “High Fives” which was like candy to the average front line worker. I knew this and used this often to reinforce the exceptional work performed every day. This was good, but I also wanted to do more to help the team stay positive. These poor kids got the brunt of people’s anger when the ride would break down (which if you ever launch a roller coaster is frequent.) So I approached my boss at the time about closing the night with the employees getting the last ride of the night. He agreed and it became my signature event for the closers. They loved it and it was a great way to keep morale and build a cohesive team. I mean what is a better way to blow off steam than hopping on the newest rollercoaster with your coworkers and screaming at the top of your lungs? This was a simple perk, it costs nothing and paid off in spades. I went on to eventually do this in other areas of the park throughout my time as a manager. Nothing pays off more than happy workers. Happy Workers= Happy Guests. What can you do to make happy workers today? #employees #teambuilding #positiveworkplace #employeeincentives #HRpractices #bestpracticesformanagers #universalstudios #employeemorale

It's Not Always the Rich Who Inspire Us The other day, while having tea near our office, I noticed a man sitting on the staircase of a closed shop. He had a bag beside him and was browsing on his mobile phone. A person on a two-wheeler stopped, noticing him, and called out his name, "Why are you sitting here?" They seemed to know each other. The man replied, "I came for work and am waiting. My shift at the nearby mall starts at 1 PM, but I arrived an hour early." Curious, the person on the bike asked, “How much you are getting paid?" With a proud and happy smile, the man responded, "Rs. 15,000. I work as a housekeeping staff at the mall." The person on the bike then shared, "I work as a carpenter at a nearby construction site, earning Rs. 18,000." As I listened to their conversation, I couldn't help but reflect. If you have access to Linkedin, I presume your income might be more than the people in this conversation. We often compare ourselves to those who are wealthier and feel regret or dissatisfaction. But sometimes, it's essential to look downwards and appreciate what we have. Practicing gratitude by acknowledging the hard work and happiness of others, even in seemingly modest circumstances, can significantly reduce our stress and increase our happiness. So, take a moment to stop and look backwards. #gratitude #motivation #life #corporate

Front desk staffing is more than just greeting visitors or answering calls. It's the first impression of your company and sets the tone for all interactions. Whether it's a potential candidate or a client, the warmth and professionalism presented can make all the difference in who feels comfortable working for or reaching out to your company. Investing in your front desk staff isn't just good for business - it influences how welcoming and inclusive you appear from the first point of contact. 📞 #frontdeskrecruiting #construction #hiring #culture

Arbitrary, unevidenced mandates to work set days in the office need to be reversed. If agency leaders want people to be in an office, they need to offer workers a clear incentive. I wrote about how they might go about this after Covid >> https://lnkd.in/eg7aT24G If agency leaders continue to arbitrarily demand workers return to offices, they will be eroding worker rights, demoralising their workforces and acting against the expressed wishes of the people they depend upon. At the CCW we've issued a statement on unevidenced agency-mandated office working days which you can read in full here >> https://lnkd.in/euB7ssBT
The office is in crisis. Here’s an idea to encourage teams to actually show up to work. Run your office like it’s a club. A club is a place people enjoy going to and spending time in. It’s rewarding, engaging and stimulating. It’s open all hours, seven days a week. It encourages you to stay longer (but doesn’t insist that you do). People are proud to be members. How would it work for an agency? Firstly: you’d have a core of full-time salaried people who would run the club. Like, 100 out of 400. The other members would be paid a retainer. And there would be associate members who would work on a project basis (they’d still have access to the club facilities). Too many people used to leave BBH because they wanted to pursue other interests. A club structure wouldn’t stand in the way of this. Tech companies have campuses. Creative companies should run clubs. There. Has anyone seen this happening already? #office #club #hospitality #work

Transformative Leadership Coach + Creative Strategist working with Creative Leaders, Founders + Entrepreneurs to gain clarity; maximise performance + career success to live a more balanced authentic values-led life.
"Too many people used to leave BBH because they wanted to pursue other interests. " Does that then make this idea that "the office is in crisis" more about the culture within a working environment regardless of whether it is an office or a club? And what does the "showing up to work" really mean? Someone present in the office in body but not really engaged, not being at their best, not producing their best work and the list goes on. Or does "showing up to work" mean they are fully locked in to be their most creative, productive, inspired by the people around them, inspiring others, loving the work they are doing, the environment they are working in (office or club), feeling appreciated, happy, fulfilled, supported and aligned with their values and what they wish from life for themselves and those around them. ... so the need to pursue other interests isn't even a thought. As one Client wrote to me the other day: " Thanks for fostering an environment where it's so easy to show up in that way. Really appreciate it". And another Agency Client who said: "I have woken up feeling like it's the start of something new which is a good feeling". So whilst it might appear to be a feeling when we consider the club idea as an external feeling or tone of location, it is actually about inner feelings and how this impacts our performance. Its about leadership and understanding. Would love to get your thoughts on this and explore how I can support you/ your teams to "show up" and feel "at their best" and produce excellent results.
