Are you allowing negativity in your organization? It’s so important to be clear with your people that you do not speak negatively to or about your clients. At Disney, we made it very clear to our managers and cast members that they were not to speak negatively in front of their team members and the guests. You don’t ever say “that customer was such a pain in the neck” or “I wish they hadn’t come.” No, we don’t do that. If you do have team members who are being negative and want to learn how to correct this behavior, learn how at Cockerell Academy! https://lnkd.in/gnuzDgN #disney #disneyworld #stage #speaker #speech #negativity #positivity #culture

What’s one word that defines communication? CLARITY. Be clear so there are no misunderstandings when we leave each other. No matter what area of life you are applying this to, you need to be clear. At Disney, we’re extremely clear on the expectations we have for our cast members. From executives, to anybody cleaning to rooms or the bathrooms, they are all clear on what is expected of them. The most successful organizations are clear with all of their people. If you want to learn how to increase the clarity in your organization, learn how at Cockerell Academy! https://lnkd.in/gnuzDgN #disney #disneyworld #stage #speaker #clarity #communication

I took my kids to Disney! The happiness place on Earth 🌎 Here’s what a trip to Disney can teach me about how to be a better team leader. Here’s what I found out: 1. The Little Things are the Big Things Just like Mickey Mouse pays attention to every guest, a good leader notices even the small things that make a team happy. ^^^ starts with self-awareness 👁️ 👁️ 2. The Journey is Part of Winning Ever wait in line for a ride? In life, sometimes we have to wait calmly for the good stuff, like a great project to finish. ^^^ it’s who we become while we wait - resilient. 3. Different is Good Disney has lots of different characters, and they all work together to make a great day for everyone. A team with different kinds of people can do amazing things if they all work towards the same goal. ^^^ a symphony of sameness wouldn’t sound that great. Going to Disney taught me that to make big dreams come true, you need fun, patience, and a team that brings all kinds of ideas to the table. That’s how we make magic in the real world too! ••• What are you doing to have fun and make magic? #FunLeadership #TeamMagic #DisneyDay

***This movie is unmissable and I will tell you why + why it is related to our professional lives. I promise I will not spoil*** If you haven't seen ‘Inside Out’ 1 or 2, all you need to know is that these movies explore emotions like joy, sadness, embarrassment, anxiety, and more. These emotions are not just experienced by the little girl/teenager in the movie but also by all of us grown adults in the workplace. Who hasn't felt, "I'm not enough" or "I'm not good enough at this job"? Who hasn't thought, "I need to show that I am capable or worthy of the promotion"? In our daily lives and jobs, we constantly experience these emotions. I believe the first step to successfully managing them is self-awareness, and ‘Inside Out 2’ definitely helps us reflect on them. Thank you, The Walt Disney Company for creating such fun and educational movies for all ages! #emotions #emotionalintelligence

How will you know if your people “get it”? At Disney, the second major place I focused my time, energy, and attention was training and development of our people. The biggest piece of this that most companies miss is that training is only half of the equation. After training your people you must enforce your training. This comes down to have clearly defined standards, and holding people accountable to those standards every single day. Stop practicing on your customers, and start testing your people internally. If you want to learn how to create a training and enforcement process, learn how at Cockerell Academy! https://lnkd.in/gnuzDgN #disney #disneyworld #training #traininganddevelopment #stage #speaker

To begin, stop talking and start doing—Walt Disney's wise words remind us that action is the key to progress. Instead of just talking about plans, take that first step into action. It's in the doing that dreams start turning into reality. So, let actions speak louder than words on the journey toward your goals. #quotes #waltdisney #inspiration #AmolRavetkar #RavetkarGroup

I AM VERY CONFORTABLE WITH REJECTION, I know the value of what I am creating. When you undertand these customers groups : Early Adopters, Followers and Laggers you just shift to initially target companies who are Early Adopters. NO IS REDIRECTION. HOWEVER, if NO are due to BIASES towards women and minority entrepreneurs, then we haven’t made improvements to make Entrepreneurship more equitable and accessible by all people. We have failed as entrepreneurs. We are great in finding efficiences, inproving processes, so how it is possible that we can’t improve entrepreneurship and increase the rates of success? Yes, get used to rejections but NEVER to INJUSTICES! #equitableentrepreneurship #entrepreneurship #dei
GET USED TO REJECTION IN BUSINESS When I started out, I heard "no" more times than I can count. But every "NO" pushed me. It made me hustle harder, rework my goals, and become stronger. At the end of the day, it isn’t the "no’s" that define you; it’s how you rise above them. Keep hustling. #ddaDisney Disney Dreamers Academy.

Be-Know-Do Be brave, smart, and wise enough to hear and understand the lessons being taught by the no’s Know and hold onto who you are, your value, your destiny knowing that through the no’s and the lessons will be the yes that will launch you into your future if you go through the no’s with the posture of learning. Do it! All of it. The good the bad and ugly. Make the mistakes, learn from them. Apply the lessons learned. Keep going. Do it some more and keep doing it. Wake up early with purpose, say your affirmations with conviction, have a plan, execute your plan. Seek wise counsel. Keep doing the do’s! Be encouraged!

The phrase "If you can dream it, you can do it" is often attributed to Walt Disney, and it encapsulates the spirit of imagination and possibility. It suggests that if you can envision a goal or an idea, you have the potential to achieve it through determination, creativity, and effort. Would you like some inspiration on how to apply this philosophy in your own life or in a specific project?

communicate clearly
Do you want to learn how I effectively communicated with 50,000 Cast Members at Disney? I wrote “The Main Street Diary” which allowed me to write weekly updates as to what was happening in the world of Disney World. I would send this out each Friday at 5:00pm to get the message to all of our Cast Members covering things such as our purpose statement, safety issues, important things that were coming up and anything they needed to know. We wanted to ensure we had knowledgable Cast Members and this is one of the ways we did that. If you want to learn how to effectively communicate with your team members, learn how at Cockerell Academy! https://lnkd.in/gnuzDgN
