Millie's HR lesson "To keep your tail wagging make sure you take your annual leave, take your breaks and focus on switching off outside of your contracted hours. Adding to this make sure to get some fresh air, go walkies and do as much movement as possible whilst eating a balanced diet worth barking about. And last but not least make sure to stay connected, get hugs and treat yourself." Thanks for that Millie. Great advice as usual. #humanresources

I can't endorse these "lunch +learn" sessions enough............ an hour with Heather can impart enough knowledge and tips to ensure colleague's health and wellbeing improves through small but important practical changes ............ and that's before I talk about the increase in levels of enthusiasm and interest in gut health...............what's not to love??? They are a great way to support employee wellbeing.
Integrative Health + Nutritionist | Culinary Medicine | Speaker + Work Shop Leader | Consultant l Bringing people back to the table.
So this is the weekend; peoples' "resolutions" start to crack. I am on the fence myself on a few of them.... I think some people's perception of what good health is has got really screwed up. It is not about a "superfood" or being "good" or "bad". It's about nourishment. Mentally + physically Sharing food feeds the soul....it's connection.... My mission is to bring some common sense back to the table because that is where it all starts. I am so passionate about what I do. I want to see a change in this space and eliminate all its noise and I will. One person at a time. If your company or organization would like to listen to me talk all things gut and food with simple sustainable nuggets, give me a holler Heather McGuire Integrated Health | Culinary Medicine heather@heathermcguire.ie Your food. Your choice. Your table. #wellness #lunchandlearn #corporatewellness #corporatehealth #hr #Irishtech #irishbusiness #irishfood

DO I EAT ON PURPOSE? With nearly every aspect of your physical and mental health impacted by what you put in your mouth and when, asking yourself this seemingly simple question can bring up deeply personal considerations tied together with who you are, where you’re from and what you do at work and home. Food is identity, culture and medicine in every bite. In pursuit of SWORN’s Mission to empower the health & well-being of people who serve the public - and seeing every variation of eating habit on the front lines from balanced to deadly - the parallel questions for public safety leaders are: DO YOUR OFFICERS EAT ON PURPOSE? YOUR PROFESSIONAL STAFF? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO EACH OF THEM AND THE PEOPLE THEY SERVE? DO THEY PERFORM BETTER WHEN THEY EAT BETTER? If this seems daunting to ask or answer, fear not: SWORN makes it practical, confidential and effective for people in mission-critical jobs to continuously improve their health, well-being and performance. Along with sleep and fitness, SWORN draws from real-time stressor data and delivers powerful audiovisual resources, human support systems, and proven methods to help people implement and maintain healthy ways to nourish, plan, hydrate and make food choices that are right for them and their families. THOUGHTS? WHAT DO YOU SEE IN YOUR DEPARTMENTS AND NEIGHBORHOODS WHEN IT COMES TO HOW, WHEN AND WHERE OFFICERS EAT? WHAT PRACTICES SEEM LIKE ASSETS AND WHICH SEEM LIKE LIABILITIES FOR THEIR HEALTH & WELL-BEING? FOR YOUR DEPARTMENT AND ITS MISSION? WHAT INITIATIVES AND PRACTICES DO YOU THINK COULD HAVE THE GREATEST POSITIVE IMPACT FOR OFFICERS AND THEIR FAMILIES?

That bowl of office fruit is more valuable than you know… 🗣️ “New data from the UK’s leading office food delivery marketplace Just Eat for Business reveals that 1 in four UK workers admit productivity drops when they’re hungry at work. The research suggests that employees are making a concerted effort to eat healthily in a bid to remain on top form throughout the day. 1 in 10 (12%) workers find snacking and having breakfast in the morning makes them more productive, and 25% of respondents state they believe consuming healthy food enhances focus and energy levels. Fresh fruit is the preferred snacking choice among workers, with 23% labelling it as their favourite work snack. While workers admitted to reduced productivity when hungry, one in four workers also said that dehydration meant respondents felt it was difficult to stay productive when not properly hydrated”. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eMhGiFAW #hungry #hangry #work #worklife #appetite #productivity

Safety is a core value in our workplace
From May 6-11, 2024, workplaces across North America will mark Safety and Health Week. It’s not just a week on the calendar; rather health and safety is a core value at Upper Crust. May is also Mental Health Awareness Month. Each one of us plays a crucial role in creating a safe and healthy work environment, both physically and mentally. It's about speaking up when we see something unsafe, lending a helping hand to a colleague, and being mindful of our own health needs - both mental and physical. ABC is our daily practice: Act Safe. Be Safe. Stay Safe. Every one deserves to go home safely every day. We are also pleased to have added a Health & Wellness Manager to our team and to provide our team with the benefit of access to Virtual Health Care. Thank you to our Health and Safety Team, our Joint Health and Safety Committee, our Guarding Committee, our HR Team, and our Executive Team for setting the tone of our health and safety environment but the biggest thanks goes to each of our team members for their ongoing work to make our operations as safe as possible for one another. #healthandsafetyweek #healthandsafetyatwork #mentalhealthmonth
