📢 The next EU Budget must deliver – especially for #biodiversity! Tackling the biodiversity crisis depends on the EU’s capacity to allocate financial resources to protect and restore nature. At the same time, we need to stop financing environmentally harmful projects. The EU’s financial framework for the coming years is being discussed right now and nature is at risk of being forgotten – once again. We call on the EU to properly fund nature. We all depend on it. 👉Read our joint statement signed by 9 environmental NGOs: https://lnkd.in/eGK_t8yT

#EXPLAINER 🌍🌿June 5 marks #WorldEnvironmentDay (WED), a date set aside to encourage awareness and action for the protection of the environment. ▶️Environment Day is the biggest international day for environmental sustainability, it is led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and held annually since 1973. ▶️In #Zimbabwe, Environment Day comes at a time when the country is blighted by its worst #drought in decades, massive #wetland destruction and land degradation. #GenerationRestoration Research by Kennedy Nyavaya
