Offering Quality Personalised Tour Experiences and Flexible audio tours of the Walled City as Senior Tour Guide at Derrie Danders Walking and Audio Tours (and semi-retired Chartered Accountant and Business Consultant )
An interesting summary about how VoiceMap audio tours work by a publisher based in Coventry The same comments apply to my range of audio tours of the city of Derry/Londonderry so if you’ve never tried one, get the VoiceMap App onto your phone or tablet and download one of my low cost and flexible audio tours and start walking and listening. #derriedanders #voicemap
Why choose a self-guided audio tour? As a working tourist or tour guide I love doing in-person tours as I get to meet lots of interesting people from different places and backgrounds. BUT..... I can't be everywhere at once AND..... not everybody wants a guided tour in the same place at the same time SO..... to encourage more people to explore Coventry I have produced a self-guided audio tour which takes you on a journey around Coventry's cathedral quarter and a little way beyond. Published on the VoiceMap Audio Tours platform, once purchased it is yours to keep FOREVER, including any updates. There will be UPDATES as already they have started some work on improving the area around one of the stops. Why not check it out this weekend? It only costs about £5.50 (the price varies a bit as it changes with the exchange rate). You can also try out the first 3 stops for FREE Here's the link for the first one, starting in Broadgate by the statue of Lady Godiva https://lnkd.in/ej9DAscq #ladygodiva #medievalcoventry #coventrytours Destination Coventry St Mary's Guildhall Coventry Cathedral Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Coventry Coventry Transport Museum Historic Coventry Trust Coventry BID Ltd C&W Chamber of Commerce

What lies behind the trend where artists are setting up their own museums? Part of it could be a wish to present a more in-depth view of their works, curated by themselves even. Another reason might be that it is positive for the market value of the artists... Read all about it in the article below:
From Damien Hirst to Gilbert & George, several British artists have set up their own institutions. Why?

Interested in Slow Art Day, but not sure how to get started? Or perhaps you’re keen to try slow looking in a museum, but are a little unsure about the process? Looking at art slowly can be a really rewarding experience, but for many, knowing where to begin is daunting. Here are some 4 simple tips to help ease you into the experience 1. Choose quiet times: Visit during off-peak hours to explore galleries with fewer people. Try first thing in the morning or late afternoon. 2. Go off-piste: Explore quieter, less frequented galleries where there are the least people - you can find slow looking treasures there! 3. If you’re intent on seeing as much of the museum as possible (i.e. you’re visiting on holiday), choose one object or artwork during your visit for a longer look. With this one object, challenge yourself to spend 3, 5 or even 10 minutes. 4. If you’re visiting alone, try looking at your chosen artwork with your headphones on. Play some music. How does the music affect what you’re seeing? Alternatively, take a notepad and note down what you see and what questions you have. Are you going to give it a go? 🐌 🖼️ For the full 10 tips and to download my free Slow Art Guide, see the link in the comments. #slowartday #slowart #slowlooking #slowartguide

Few people know about the government backed Own Art scheme which breaks down the barriers to collecting art supporting contemporary artists and the galleries that show them. For purchases of £100 or over you can put a deposit down and pay the rest in 10 interest free instalments. That way you get the art you desire and the artist and gallery get the cashflow they need. It’s a great scheme. For example a £500 painting could be acquired with a one off deposit if £50 then 10 monthly instalments of £45 to pay the rest… Be sure to ask about the Own Art scheme next time you’re at a gallery. #ownart #accessible #collecting #artadvisor #collecting #artconsultant
