Our final day at #IAIA24 started with a Theme Forum hosted by our director Rob Verheem, on an IAIA SEA agenda for action. For this session, a 'Digest of expert views' was put together, containing the views of a group of internationally acknowledged SEA experts and the IAIA community. NaaS? What is it? NaaS (Network as a Service) provides an agile network solution for multinational clients to connect: - their own sites 🌐; - their public clouds such as Azure, AWS, SAP, etc. ☁️; - their edge clouds (small data centers at the factory or site level) 🏭; - their private clouds (their own data centers) 🖥️. The pay-as-you-go scheme of NaaS allows you to scale resources up or down based on needs to maximize efficiency. Just as you no longer buy a car but rather rent one for a weekend trip, a van for the holiday, or an electric scooter for a short ride, the same principle applies to global connectivity. The above approach is, in fact, referred to as MaaS (Mobility as a Service). In the same way multinational companies only pay for what they need when they need it. Understanding digital transformation and cloud migration is fundamental to a successful journey. One needs to understand the network, latency, security, data sovereignty, etc. and most importantly, the culture change being a key factor. The establishment of the “AUKUS Advanced Capabilities Industry Forum” will enable the three countries to deliver on the initial promises of Pillar II and its eight advanced capabilities. The Forum is the key interface between AUKUS governments and industrial bases, via our trade associations.
