New Year's Eve comes but once a year. Of course, you can say that about a lot of things. For most, it's a time to reminisce about the year gone by, and plan for the new one coming. At Times Square, which is TV's epicenter for NYE celebrations, people are spending lots of money just to be there. From paying $850 for a table at Applebee's to paying another price of holding a spot in the elements for hours until the ball drop at midnight, people will go to great lengths. Applebee's...does spending a boatload of money for a table really mean eatin' good in the neighborhood? Well, you get bathroom access and unlimited breadsticks, but one can argue that Olive Garden probably offers the same though times will vary. Then, there's various other restaurant chains and others selling tickets to reserve that magical spot near where all the ball dropping action happens. Receiving shelter from what is expected to heavy rain will cost you extra, and I'm pretty sure some enterprising entrepreneurs will be selling garbage bag ponchos for a decent profit as well. Cash to burn to welcome in the New Year...maybe. For others, especially in other parts of the country, NYE parties and banquets are probably more tolerable, and more importantly, likely to be indoors in the cold of night. Then, there are the fireworks displays that are likely more accessible, though they require showing up hours ahead to save to the best viewing spots. Of course in San Francisco for example, fog has a way of making the fireworks a gamble. And, depending on how you get there, chances are you'll spend more time in the car or on public transportation than the display itself. While these hardcore partiers await the arrival of New Year's, the rest if not majority of us will be more than happy staying nice and cozy at home watching the ball drop on TV, streaming the night away with a movie, or just being with those important to us. Better yet, there's always going to bed early after what has already been an all too busy and exhausting year https://lnkd.in/gAxvemfe #newyear #culture #newyork #society #entertainment

It’s the second week of May, and as a team that supports restaurants, we know what that means: The weather is warmer. Your venue is fuller. One of the busiest days of the year is getting closer. Mother’s Day is on the way. 👀 And, while it’s certainly a lovely weekend of celebration for most, we know it’s a grueling weekend for restaurant staff and servers — well, if our data is telling the truth, anyway. So, how do you motivate your staff to embrace the craziness? Perhaps empowering them with a tool that could drive 5x more Google reviews, generate higher tips and help turn tables 15 minutes faster would be a lovely way to start? We’re sunday, and we’re here to make record-breaking days actually feel like celebrations. 🥳
