High-quality Nature Based solutions projets start now! A report highlighting the need to develop #naturebasedsolutions "because they tend to cost less per metric ton of CO2 removed than emerging technology-based removals" and to start now "to ensure that scenarios 2050 are achievable”… As aDryada, we naturally welcome the McKinsey & Company report released yesterday, titled “Carbon Removals: How to Develop a New Gigaton Industry? » As for mitigating the risks associated with this type of project, why not adopt “Quality” as the sole course of action? This means building projects based on climate, biodiversity and improving the livelihoods of local communities as three equally important pillars. This also means basing their business model on #ppp (public-private partnerships), as a way to ensure transparency and a fair share of benefits. I'm not mentioning #article6 on purpose: it is important to insure alignment with article 6 becomes a sign of "Quality". This subject in a future post!
