As a Senior Director, Area Operations you would be responsible for executing your position's responsibilities in alignment with our Spirit of Service culture and driving company success through performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Considers cultural and ethical factors in the decision-making process, acting fairly despite conflicting demands of partners. Direct and manage the operations of multiple properties to assure outstanding performance. Direct General Managers and Club Directors within their region to ensure seamless delivery of service, operational management, overall profitability and management of Homeowner Associations. Strategize to increase service levels improving guest, owner and team member satisfaction, executes and ensures compliance with overall HGV vision, quality assurance and brand standards. Deals comfortably with organizational politics, navigating complexities of the organization easily. Has a clear understanding of other groups' business priorities, working to develop collaborations to meet business goals. Uses knowledge of organizational culture to achieve objectives. Anticipates future trends and implications accurately. Builds driven and breakthrough strategies that show a clear connection between vision and action. Formulate a clear strategy and maps the aggressive steps that will clearly accelerate the organization toward its strategic goals. Articulate a vision which is compelling, encouraged, and relatable by all Show personal dedication to the vision through ones own actions and behavior Create milestones and symbols to rally support behind the vision and how to achieve it Develops positive organization-wide energy, with purpose and optimism for the future. Sets objectives to align with broader organizational goals. It’s been six weeks since I started my summer job as a guest-facing associate working for one of the most iconic brands in #Chicago, and probably the world. I’ve learned this #brand is even more magical than I thought! Why? Because of … · Legendary stories passed from generation to generation · Legendary players who have lead the team to victory · Steadfast fans who return win or lose year after year · And so much more! This is a brand you must experience to believe it’s real. It’s not a brand that’s easily translatable into words. It’s a feeling you get when you step into the park, even if you aren’t a fan. Actually, it starts even before you step into the park. It starts when you lay eyes on the marquee at the main entrance. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve visited. You get the same feeling. People travel from all over the world to visit. I’ve met people from Japan, Venezuela, Germany, Canada, California, New York, and small and large towns across the US. They tell me through giddy laughter that visiting the park is on their bucket list. It doesn’t matter that they aren’t fans. They came to create a memory and see what the fuss is all about. They leave with stars in their eyes. Quite frankly, so do I because I helped create a memory, a moment in time that will last forever. Associates are devoted too. I work with people who come from Michigan, Indiana, the suburbs of Chicago and downstate Illinois. That’s dedication, especially when my commute is an 18- to 22-minute walk. What is it that keeps people coming back? It boils down to the #experience. The experience associates give guests. The #employeeexperience head office associates work so hard to give their guest-facing associates when they do things like … · Provide hot chocolate during breaks when it’s cold outside · Show appreciation for going above and beyond for a guest · Ensure supervisors have the information they need to share with associates · Provide associates with the info and training they need to give guests the best experience It takes a village to build a brand. Hoteliers, The "I am looking for someone with the brand experience" is equivalent to "We require 75 years of experience, a masters degree and a PhD for this role (Sales & Marketing Director)." A friend of mine was declined an Ops manager role because of "No brand experience". Dude, I have worked with over 10 brands; opening, operation, re-branding, eco, midscale, luxury, lifestyle you name it. You take any brand, sit down for a day and there you know it. Anyone can learn about any brand within a day so, can we please leave this nonsense in the past especially when you are struggling with talent?? I love it when hoteliers present their brand "Here, our glass of water is carried by nuns, blessed by organic air, and served by the finest people you find in the industry." We all know it is not true, right? It is a glass of water served like anywhere else. Every hotel is the same, you learn the brand and adapt.
