The new Lotus Emeya is the fastest-charging electric production car, the brand has claimed, after it recorded a 10-80% refill in just 14 minutes. The luxury 4-door sedan reached a peak charging rate of 402kW and averaged 331kW during the test, which was completed using a 400kW DC connection. Notably, this is greater than the 320kW peak rate claimed by Porsche for the facelifted Taycan. All versions pack a 102kWh battery pack that officially yields a range of up to 379 miles. Will a "shooting brake" be next/forth Lotus lifestyle model and serve as a rival to the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo?

Porsche 718 Boxster EV drops camo, exhibits new headlight design https://ift.tt/Nnm76it Porsche simply revealed its up to date Taycan yesterday, and simply hours after that, these new Boxster EV spy photographs hit our doorstep. It marks one other step in Porsche eradicating camouflage from its electrical convertible sports activities automotive as an precise reveal attracts nearer and nearer. The large get is a greater take a look at the headlights, which seem like mighty much like the items seen on the up to date Taycan and Macan Electrical. They characteristic the identical quad LED DRL design, and those self same lights double because the flip indicators. There’s no signature teardrop design to them just like the Taycan’s sported for the reason that starting, indicating that Porsche is effectively and really finished with that look. The entrance bumper is much less shrouded, although there’s nonetheless loads of disguise work being finished to maintain us astray from figuring out what the manufacturing styling will appear like. The wheels fitted to this check automotive are intriguing and have an additional thick outdoors rim design, partially overlaying some mighty massive entrance brake rotors and black-painted calipers. After all, these wheels are additionally fitted with winter rubber for the snow and chilly climate testing Porsche seems to be doing right here. And regardless of all that snow being kicked up, that is simply our greatest take a look at the rear design of the new Boxster EV. It’s getting a full-width LED taillight which you can see poking by way of the snow and camo. Plus, we’ll level out that Porsche has gone forward and dropped its foolish pretend exhaust outlet deception from this tester fully. The cost port is clearly seen proper within the middle of the rear bumper, although it’s clear Porsche isn’t utilizing a production-design decrease rear bumper in any respect, holding the ultimate design a secret. The newest on launch particulars from Porsche point out that the Boxster EV will see the sunshine of day in 2025 and be constructed alongside gas-powered 718 variants for some undetermined period of time, however then ultimately transition to all EV. An finish date for the combustion engine within the 718 mannequin line isn’t but formally introduced, so it seems such as you’ll have a alternative between fuel or EV Porsche convertibles for at the very least a short time after the electrical model launches. A decade ago, the automotive world was revolutionized by the "Holy Trinity" of hypercars: the Ferrari LaFerrari (2.3 kWh battery), McLaren Automotive Ltd P1 (4.7 kWh), and Porsche AG 918 Spyder (6.8 kWh). With a combined 2,740 horsepower, these hybrid marvels captivated enthusiasts and continue to command admiration. While each is a technological tour de force, the P1 holds a special allure for me. Fast forward to today, and history seems to be repeating itself. Ferrari has just unveiled the F80, featuring a 2.3 kWh battery and a staggering 1,200 combined horsepower. Not to be outdone, McLaren recently revealed the W1, featuring a 1.384 kWh battery and an impressive 1,258 horsepower. Porsche, however, remains the wild card. While they teased the Mission X concept last year, it's unclear whether they'll embrace full electrification or continue with hybrid technology like their competitors. The automotive world watches, wondering if we're witnessing the birth of a new "Holy Trinity". Fun times in the automotive world!
