This event consists of a mile run at the start, a total of 3.5 miles of swimming broken up by 3 stations where they complete 100 honor pushups and 22 pull ups, and a final mile run at the end to the World Trade Center. Each year, Wawa, Inc. teams up with the USO and local members of the Air and Army National Guard for the annual tradition known as Operation Taste of Home, where together, they assemble care packages. This year, as #VeteransDay approaches, this annual tradition continues as Wawa associates, members of the Wawa Veterans’ Alliance and members of the USO and Pennsylvania National Guard plan to assemble more than 10,000 care packages that will be sent to service members stationed abroad. The Wawa Foundation will also be presenting the USO with a check for over a million dollars raised through customer donations! These campaigns make it easy for customers to donate and show that even small amounts can make a big difference — often totaling millions of dollars. Yes, believe it or not, that small change you donate as you make your purchase can actually make a huge difference in the lives of American service members, military spouses and military children. #TheUSO’s corporate partnerships help to fund major USO programs that support service members and their families — programs that keep them connected while they are stationed or deployed anywhere in the world.

The National Auto Body Council (#NABC) recently revealed the establishment of the Changing and Saving Lives Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization to support community involvement and fundraising events. The foundation's primary focus is to assist families in need, military members, veterans, and first responders through various programs, including #NABC Recycled Rides, NABC First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.), and NABC Community Impact initiatives. In the year 2023 alone, the NABC, through these programs, distributed over 200 vehicles to families, veterans, and military members in need of reliable transportation. More than 1,500 first responders received life-saving education on vehicle rescue techniques. With the increasing demand for NABC programs, there is a growing need for resources to manage and expand these initiatives. The Changing and Saving Lives Foundation enables the NABC to actively pursue grants, gifts, and donations actively, providing the necessary means to enhance and broaden their programs. This strategic move will allow the organization to meet the rising demand and make a more substantial impact on communities where NABC members reside and work. #NABCFoundation #CommunityImpact #ChangingLives #AutobodyNews

I am so proud of the work my classmates (Jessica Whitney, MBA, Millie Hale, → Cristina P., Bradford Waldie, Austin McKinney, Stephan Azab, and Jordan Craft) and I have done creating the 2010 Endowment for Cadet Morale with the Air Force Academy Foundation and Association of Graduates - U.S. Air Force Academy. $0.93 per dollar donated to the Class of 2010 Endowment for Cadet Morale goes directly to the cadets. So, for every $20.10 monthly donation, $18.69 is provided to the fund monthly. Since its inception in 2020, seven cadet squadrons have received $5,000 to spend however they see fit. We have seen improvements to SARs, Top Golf parties, video game system purchases, squadron bars created, and restaurant outings (Raising Canes and Chiptole). We make a tangible impact on cadets at USAFA every semester. As a class, we don't micromanage how cadets spend the money. The winning squadron AOC works with their cadet leadership to create an initial proposal for how the funds are spent, including an itemized breakdown. USAFA and the Association and Foundation review this proposal, and then once approved, the Association and Foundation work directly with the cadet leadership to purchase the items. You do not need to be in the Class of 2010 to contribute—everyone is welcome to join our team dedicated to helping cadets currently at USAFA raise their morale in a way that is authentic to their current desires.
