June is National Safety Month, but it goes without saying that safety should be a primary concern for everyone all year long. At Lunda, we engage in daily safety huddles, weekly safety meetings, safety stand downs, and ongoing safety training for all of the people working on our jobs every day to shape the infrastructure of America. Safety stand downs are focused events that occur outside of the regular safety meeting schedule. They can feature the latest training on state-of-the-art safety equipment, direct from the manufacturers of that equipment, like this 3M fall protection training held recently in our Milwaukee location. This is just one of many stand downs 3M has participated in at Lunda jobsites and we are grateful for their expert demonstrations. #nationalsafetymonth #safetystanddown #safetytraining #constructionsafety #safetyculture #lifeatlunda #lundaconstruction #lunda

Continuing our commemoration of the 53rd National Safety Week, we conducted a session today focusing on the effective utilization of Fire Safety tools during emergencies! The session was structured into two main segments: a theoretical overview followed by practical demonstrations. The first part aimed to impart fundamental knowledge, while the second part provided hands-on experience to participants, ensuring they were equipped with both understanding and practical skills in Fire Safety procedures. #NationalSafetyWeek #safetyweek #safetyfirst #safetyculture #Firefighting #FireSafety #lifeatyashhighvoltage

Fire safety is in the back of everyone’s mind. We’re taught its principles at a young age, with firefighters visiting grade schools for live demonstrations. But as we age, many take for granted how important fire safety education is — and how truly dangerous fires can be. Since 1992, struck-by injuries have been the leading cause of non-fatal injuries in the construction industry. The national stand down encourages employers and workers to pause voluntarily during the workday for safety demonstrations, training in hazard recognition and fall prevention, and talks about hazards, protective methods, and the company’s safety policies, goals and expectations. Resources to conduct your own stand down can be found at https://lnkd.in/dS4WwzBq. #amgcm #workzonesafety #projectmanagement #cpmscheduling #projectcontrols #projectmanagement #constructionmanagement #projectmanager #constructionmanager #engineering #construction #transportation #aviation #bridges #civilengineering #electricalengineering #smallbusiness

Sometimes there is just no substitution for on-site demonstrations and hands-on training when it comes to employee safety. Safety professionals must be willing to get down in the trenches and get their hands dirty, both literally and figuratively. Additionally, do not underestimate the level of respect this will buy with the employees you are training. You don't have to be able to their job as well as they do, but the fact that you do not consider yourself above doing it with them does more for your reputation with them than any degree or certification you could possibly obtain. #GetInTheTrenches #GetYourHandsDirty #onsitetraining
