Meet the Owen family, who recently found their perfect home at Fox Wood Garden Village. Downsizing through our Easymover scheme, Tim and Anita were drawn to the rural charm and green spaces of Whiston, ideal for walks with their dogs and easy access to commuting routes. Choosing the four-bedroom house, they loved the energy-efficient design, open-plan kitchen, and spacious layout – thanking the team for their support and guidance at every step of the way. In partnership with Magic Breakfast, our amazing team at Taylor Wimpey Logistics has transformed the outdoor area at St John's Church School in Peterborough. Over four weeks, our volunteers built sandpits, mud kitchens, flower beds, a LEGO table, and much more, creating a vibrant space where the children can learn, play, and grow. We’re incredibly proud our Future Homes Trial at Sudbury was awarded ‘Most Sustainable Building Project’ at last week’s Building Innovation Awards #BIAwards24. This award is a well-deserved recognition of the hard work from everyone involved in making this important project a success. Our Future Homes Trial is a pioneering effort in the housebuilding industry, preparing for the Future Homes Standard (FHS) legislation. This groundbreaking trial involved constructing five zero carbon ready homes each with a different build specification and delivered on a live development - a UK first. The homes included a number of industry first innovations, including a roof-mounted Air Source Heat Pump, one home with the potential for zero energy bills, and augmented reality for visitor education. We are also gathering invaluable post-occupancy insights, helping us meet the FHS targets. By using only our internal design teams and incumbent tradespeople, we ensured the trial was fully representative of Taylor Wimpey’s approach. This decision allowed our teams to gain firsthand experience and develop the necessary skills to build homes to these complex specifications and understand the importance of integrating modern technologies from the outset to ensure compatibility and ease of use for customers. Because the findings of this live trial are being shared within the housebuilding industry, the benefits will be felt well beyond Taylor Wimpey: we want to thank the entire team involved for their dedication to building a planet-positive future. #TWFutureHomes

Our South Midlands team recently installed a new bird box and bug hotel at its Barnfield Place development in Luton, with both items being made from surplus wood and waste timber from the site. The team worked with Community Wood Recycling, a social and environmental enterprise network that repurposes excess wood from developments for reuse in the community by making new products. Both items are now situated in the showhome gardens at the development, ready for visitors to the site to see. Taylor Wimpey has been proudly working with the enterprise for around 20 years, supporting their social and environmental goals. You can read more about the partnership here: https://bit.ly/4dGnFOU

In June, we announced that our Chief Executive, Jennie Daly CBE, had been awarded a CBE in His Majesty the King’s Birthday Honours list, in recognition of her services to business and housing. Last week, Jennie attended her official Investiture in the Grand Reception Room at Windsor Castle, where HRH Princess Anne presented her with the award. As the first female CEO of a major housebuilder, Jennie is a role model for many women aspiring to senior leadership positions in the property industry. Her passion for housebuilding and the benefits it brings to local communities is truly inspiring. Please join us in congratulating Jennie on this well-deserved recognition of her hard work and dedication.
