❤️This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and dedication are the bedrock of our freedom, and we are forever grateful. 👂As we commemorate these heroes, let's also remember the importance of hearing health, especially for those who continue to serve. Many veterans and active service members face challenges such as hearing loss and tinnitus due to their service. Addressing these issues is not only about improving their quality of life but also about showing our respect and gratitude for their sacrifices. Let's ensure our loved ones, especially those who have served or are currently serving, receive the care and attention they need for their hearing health. Regular check-ups, early intervention, and proper management of tinnitus can make a significant difference. On this day of remembrance, let's commit to supporting our heroes by raising awareness about hearing health. Their service deserves nothing less than our full support and care. Wishing everyone a heartfelt Memorial Day filled with reflection, gratitude, and a commitment to the well-being of those who have given so much for us. ❤️ Give the gift of tinnitus relief - check comments for download link #tinnitus #tinnitusrelief #memorialday #veterans #hearinghealth #hearing #hearingaids #mentalhealth #tinnitussupport #tinnitusawareness

More advocacy if you are interested but please give it a read. It’s important to understand the issue because these solutions are only one steps at times.

Currently, a veteran must contact the VA within 72 hours of receiving non-VA emergency care; otherwise VA may deny payment for these services even if the veteran is eligible for treatment. Veterans suffering medical emergencies should not have to worry about whether VA will deny coverage or refuse payment because of administrative notification time requirements. H.R. 3644, the Addressing Care Timelines (ACT) for Veterans Act would provide an additional 24-hour period for veterans to inform the VA when receiving care at a non-VA facility under the Veterans Community Care Program. DAV supports H.R. 3644, in accordance with DAV Resolution No. 205, which calls for the improvement of emergency care benefits for service-connected veterans: specifically, for VA to provide a more liberal interpretation of the law governing payment for emergency care and reimbursement to veterans who have received emergency care at non-VA facilities. We ask all DAV members and supporters to contact their representatives and urge them to co-sponsor and support H. R. 3644, the ACT for Veterans Act.

Chants of "Jesus was a Palestinian" as shoppers tried to do some holiday shopping in Ottawa Canada. Once again, the below video how these pro-Palestinian/Hamas protesters just make noise even if their catchy slogans and chants make no sense at all! One of their main goals is to take over the world. Start with the Jews/Israel and then the Christians etc. Why chant "Jesus was a Palestinian"? You think it is to foster support from Christians? Nope! Rather, it is part of their larger plan to conquer the world in a rejuvenated modern day crusade! Hamas has made this point numerous times. This is why they go through great efforts to wave the Palestinian flag over the Golden Gate Bridge, the London Bridge and numerous other places. They also have the catchy chant "we are all Palestinian." Really? Curious to know whether this video and these types of chants bother Christians or not. Regardless of religion, it should be bothersome to any right minded individual that these folks can just harass anyone and their family when out and about trying to have a good time and do some shopping. The below is a more peaceful video than the protest in the Eaton Centre Mall in Toronto on Friday (https://lnkd.in/d5yHT3ia) where protesters threatened police and those shopping in Zara's that they will kill them ("I'll put you 6 feet deep"). As a Jew, it really does not matter to me whether he was Palestinian or not, but this goes to show how far these radicals will go to push their agenda that the Jews have no historic connection to the Land of Israel. I would ask the following questions to these folks (not that I would expect any intelligent response): (1) Was Jesus a Jew (you may want to check with any Christian you know before you answer that question)? Please provide your sources if you say he was not. (2) If he was not a Jew, since Islam only began in 610 BCE (not in Palestine/Israel), what religion was Jesus at birth? How about the other "Palestinians" that lived at the time? Please provide a source. (3) If you agree that he was a Jew, so then you agree that the Jews lived in Israel/Palestine more than 600 years before Islam was founded? If not, please explain and provide a source. (4) Was the land where he was born called "Palestine" at the time or Judea/Israel? Again, what is your source for that? Thanks again Greta Yulish
Hey, Canadian Friends! How're the Christmas preparations going for you? This festive season is a time for joy, family time, delightful shopping, and creating a warm atmosphere with beautiful decorations. It's a special time for children to have much fun and enjoy the excitement of receiving presents. I'm curious about anti-Israel protesters and their impact on your Christmas celebrations. Why would you let them so rudely disrupt your Christmas, terrify your children? Do they know that Christmas isn't a Jewish holiday? What's the point they are making here? My point is, your children deserve a #HateFreeChristmas, and so do you. *Anti-Israel protesters scaring children at a Christmas celebration event at Bayshore Mall in Ottawa, Canada. #canada #christmaschallenge #christmas2023 #christmas

I'm incredibly proud of the work we do with Ohio Legal Help. From building the website five years ago to implementing text-to-speech for improved access to legal information this year, the website has a direct impact on people's lives at a moment when they need help. Reading through the report there was a stat that stuck out to this technologist: 70% of the visitors do so on their mobile phones. That's a lot! We've always known the mobile experience was important for this website, it truly embodies "mobile first" graphical and information design. And because the mobile experience is so important, we've done quite a bit of work ensuring that is performant. Capellic implemented enhancements earlier this year to boost the website's performance score for mobile, taking it from 75 to 95 according to Google PageSpeed Insights. Ironically, the JavaScript libraries that provide assistive technologies, including the aforementioned text-to-speech feature, pushed that score back down, but we're still passing Core Web Vitals. The last thing we want is someone in need having a difficult time operating the website due to JavaScript gumming up browser performance. And so now the next round of enhancements will seek to optimize the loading and performance of these JavaScript libraries. #Drupal #performance #continuousimprovement #accessibility #cwv #gpsi #legalhelp #mobilefirst
In 2023, we served over 772,000 Ohio families. Read through the report to learn about the impact of our work on Ohioans. https://bit.ly/3VY7Ayx

🏅 Tiny Titans: The Children Who Care for Our Veterans 🌟 Introduction Children in the homes of wounded warriors often take on significant caregiving roles, providing essential support to their injured parents. These young individuals balance their lives while ensuring the well-being of their families, showcasing resilience, compassion, and strength. 📜 Historical Background Traditionally, caregiving was seen as an adult responsibility. However, with more soldiers returning home with injuries, children have increasingly stepped up, reshaping the caregiving landscape. The Caregiver and Veteran Omnibus Health Services Act of 2010 aimed to provide support, but the unique needs of child caregivers are often overlooked. 📅 Significant Milestones Organizations like the Elizabeth Dole Foundation have been pivotal in advocating for child caregivers, highlighting their contributions and challenges. Their efforts bring much-needed awareness and support to these young heroes. 🌐 Impact on Society/Industry Child caregivers highlight the need for comprehensive support systems that address the physical, emotional, and educational needs of military families. Schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations must collaborate to offer resources that ease the burden on these young individuals. 🔮 Legacy and Future Outlook The legacy of child caregivers is one of strength and resilience. As awareness grows, future initiatives may include specialized counseling, educational support, and financial assistance to help young caregivers balance their responsibilities and personal growth effectively. 💬 Conclusion The stories of children caring for wounded warriors remind us of the incredible capacity for empathy and strength within our youth. Society must acknowledge their contributions and support their sacrifices. Working at USAA, where I support the military community and their families every day, I am continually inspired by their dedication and resilience. This experience reinforces the importance of our mission and the critical need to support these hidden heroes. 📢 Call to Action Join the conversation on supporting young caregivers in military families. I was deeply moved by the “Children of War” segment that re-aired last night on 60 Minutes that features the important work of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation in supporting military and veteran families. The story serves as a reminder that the cost of war isn’t always visible, and millions of families, importantly children, are making sacrifices for our freedoms every day. I'm proud to serve on the Board of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. The work of the foundation is critical to the health and wellbeing of our nation’s 5.5 million military caregivers. As an association that exists to serve the military community and their families, USAA is committed to lifting these organizations up to ensure veterans and their caregivers have timely access to the resources they need to take care of our nation’s wounded, ill and injured veterans. Great tips.
Our world isn't designed with sight loss in mind, which is why 9 in 10 blind or partially sighted people need some assistance to make an unfamiliar journey. Even though many people want to help someone with sight loss, they often don't know where to start.
