Recently I decided to take a step out of my comfort zone.... I took a chance on change. It paid off more than I could have dreamed. Yesterday, I took a moment to give back to my community by donating blood. It's a small act of altruism, but it can make a big difference in someone's life. Reflecting on this experience, while reading news about devastating conflicts and wars in various parts of the world, I am reminded of the importance of caring for others and fostering a sense of community, both in our personal lives and in our workplaces. As a business leader and educator, I believe that gift-giving is a powerful tool for fostering new and unexpected relationships. This concept, explored also in the "Art Thinking" methodology as designed by my colleague Sylvain Bureau co-founder of the Art Thinking Collective and Professor of Entrepreneurship at ESCP Business School, can help us to change our mindset, broaden our horizons, and open ourselves up to new opportunities. By giving freely, without expecting anything in return, we can create a more positive and collaborative environment. This can be especially beneficial for executives and business leaders, who often operate in a very competitive and transactional world.
