At ReMo, we're on a mission to ensure that shelter becomes a basic human right. To achieve this, we believe fundamental changes are necessary within the modular industry and the construction sector at large—it’s time for a paradigm shift. 🌐 Nobody Has a Monopoly on Innovation Right now, the potential for innovation in modular construction is as boundless as it is in the automotive, aerospace, and semiconductor industries. Reaching this zenith of innovation requires us to rethink our approach and foster collective action across the industry. 🛠️ Moving Towards a More Collaborative Future Imagine a world where creating homes is as streamlined and standardized as developing software. We're advocating for a "GitHub for homes" – a platform that encourages easy collaboration and standardization of components. This is not just about enhancing the efficiency of construction but about building a supply chain that's resilient, redundant, and ready for the future. 🏗️ Join Us This Wednesday to Shape the Future This Wednesday, join ULI Los Angeles, ULI Orange County/Inland Empire, and the ReMo team as we tackle the housing crisis and industry stagnation head-on. 💬 ULI Orange County/Inland Empire: Sustainable Modular Homes- Designing Tomorrow's Dwellings 📅 Wednesday, April 3rd 🕞 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM 📍 The ReMo Homes factory in Gardena Learn more about ReMo's innovative approach to introducing new residential supply to the market, challenging century-old methods to shape a sustainable and accessible future of housing. 🎤 4:00-4:45 PM | Guest speaker discussion 🏠 4:45-5:00 PM | Exclusive tour of our prototype home 🍻 5:00-6:00 PM | Networking & happy hour at Eureka Brewing Company 🔗 The deadline to register is April 2—be sure to secure your spot: https://lnkd.in/gQgXgZSu #remohomes #modular #ULILosAngeles #ULIOrangeCounty #ULI #Gardena #networking #sustainability #HousingCrisis #housing Matt Horton Allegra Roza Susie Ogihara Violeta Aguilar-Wyrick, MPP Brandon Barney Ryan Blowers Vamsi Kumar Kotla ULI Los Angeles Young Leaders Group (YLG) Jeff La Tourette Ramin Faramarzi, PE Sammy Houssainy

Thank you so much to Frost*collective for inviting me to participate in this panel discussion about, Meeanjin Country, identity, place and responsibility. I felt really privileged to be sitting alongside fellow panelists Michael Stott, Troy Casey and Cat Burgess, all incredibly insightful people, passionate about their respective calling. I’ve thought a lot about this conversation since, in terms of redefining Meeanjin (Brisbane), preparing for the Olympics and the legacy to follow. I loved Michael Stott's take where he mentioned that we don’t have to over complicate it – the answer can be quite simple. When we draw back the curtain to explore what, and who, Meeanin is, there are good bones to work with already, maybe we just need to build on that. Its beauty is its simplicity. And if we talk about legacy, Troy Casey mentioned that Traditional Knowledge has this way of looking back in order to move forward. I think that this is key. It has to be based on one of the foundation pillars of sustainability being, #Envisioning a Better Future or #FuturesThinking. If we really think about this and look at the industrialized past infused in our current thinking we might consider taking a different approach. Maybe if we start designing for the future, for our grandkids and theirs, as an initial first lens before starting a masterplan, development or project, maybe we will start to infuse a layer of depth and understanding of what a beautiful, resilient city might look like. That way the legacy is about the future city, and the future city is about the legacy. Thanks again Frost*collective looking forward to the next one! #Naturebasedsolutions #RegenerativeDesign #BiophilicDesign #Sustainability #BuildBetter #LowCarbon #Materiality #Intergenerationalequity
If you weren’t lucky enough to attend deFrost* 67 in person at our good friends Eco Outdoor Group's stunning showroom, you can watch the entire talk now. Our panel of experts generously shared their ideas for how we can work together to design Brisbane as a truly great city to its full potential. Everyone agrees, Brisbane is great, and we don’t want to ruin it. Whatever we do, we need to embody the real Brisbane in an authentic way. Catriona Burgess says, “What is the solution creatively and strategically? It’s about a shifting of and managing a perception gap.” We need to stop looking for identity beyond our borders and embrace what we have. And as Troy Casey asked us to consider, “If you have the ability to make change, what is your responsibility?” We also spoke about the blueprint for the iconic Queenslander built by Aboriginals over 65,000 years ago, redefining buildings that already exist and dancing with systems for the benefit of communities. Thanks again to our panel Audrey Penney at ADP Consulting Pty Ltd, Troy Casey at Blaklash, Michael Stott at DBI , Catriona Burgess at Frost*collective and of course our host Vince Frost. Understanding adaptive reuse in commercial real estate is invaluable. It unlocks the potential to revitalize underutilized properties, preserving historic significance while meeting modern needs. By repurposing existing structures, investors save on demolition costs and tap into unique architectural features, creating distinct market appeal. Additionally, adaptive reuse aligns with sustainability goals, reducing environmental impact compared to new construction. This approach fosters community engagement, enhances property value, and generates economic opportunities by breathing new life into older buildings, ultimately driving innovation and fostering vibrant urban landscapes.

Adaptive inclusive reuse of existing assets is one of the most important efforts of combatting climate change for our environment! Literally and figuratively it has the potential to change a place both physically and psychologically. Economic development for the people, of the people and by the people. Today the City of Chicago formally announced its support of the adaptive reuse of four projects on LaSalle Street, in support of creating a vibrant mixed-use core in our downtown. Across the diverse stakeholders in Chicago, and the region, we are all tied together in the success of our downtown! The announcement includes four projects that together represent: ➡ More than 1,000 total new apartments within underutilized office buildings, representing more than $528 million in development costs ➡ More than 300 new affordable units in our downtown, an area solely lacking workforce housing, defined as 60% of are median income, or approximately $53,000 for a two-person household ➡ TIF assistance of $150 million that ensures inclusive redevelopment of the downtown core ➡ Reuse of 1.3 million square feet of outdated vacant office space repurposed for productive use ➡ The city also marked its commitment to evaluate other projects in the pipeline on LaSalle World Business Chicago has been a proud partner to this effort, and I’m excited to see this important initiative moved forward! Congratulations and thank you to the development teams who are leaning into opportunities to invest in downtown Chicago and this iconic corridor, including: The Prime Group, Inc, @Capri Investor LLC (Quintin E. Primo III), Golub & Company, and Campari Group. Great things ahead for LaSalle!

What's better than finding usable space in your building? 🕵️♀️ Turning it into surprising public amenities! Thanks to its robust structure, 10 World Trade offers wide-open spaces unbroken by columns. Owner: At our core, we are artists and storytellers. We are brand experts who care about place and people and help them to tell their story through the marketing communications we create for them.
HOW CAN A RETAIL PROPERTY REINVENT A CITY? Ponce City Market made a huge impression on the nation...and started a new vibe in Atlanta. It's an artful and art-filled ex-Sears warehouse turned into an experiential fun-house. I had fun shooting all the facets...or at least some. The place is huge, endless and with novelty around every corner. My take-away - why do the old warehouses get all the creativity, funk and fun? Why not a modern office? It might help in the return to office. __________ Torque Real Estate Marketing TORQUE is a real estate marketing agency bringing insight and awareness to the emergence of human experience, properties and the community. #atlantarealestate #office #commercialrealestate #architecture #realestate #realestateindustry #marketingagency #realestatemarketing #marketingagency
