We recently held our annual employee awards ceremonies in Minnesota and California, and over the coming weeks, we’ll be celebrating those crew members who were recognized for going above and beyond in the service of others and bringing our vision to life. Today, we’re kicking off with the North Star Award. It’s given to Direct Support Professionals who have shown exceptional service by being a navigational guide to the people they serve. Why don't we shift towards a culture where we celebrate successes as they happen? Depending on the size of the exceptional work, Spot awards can range from - Gifts vouchers, electronic items, a cash award, a LinkedIn Testimonial, a spa session to stock options, small vacation, private meeting with the CEO ( A brisk high five and a firm handshake doesn't count ;) ) Let's recognize, appreciate, and inspire! 🌟 #Recognition #EmployeeEngagement #WorkCulture #SpotAwards #appreciation #jobs #hrservice #recruitment

Employee anniversary celebrations are a critical part of any recognition program—and they can (and should) go beyond giving out certificates, plaques, or pins. Let’s look at how to build the best service award program possible. https://bit.ly/3se1ddT

Let me tell you about a time I got employee recognition so so wrong 😳 You see, I once had an employee who was a very high performer She was in an admin support role ⭐ Great work ethic ⭐Impeccable work ⭐The team loved her ⭐Went above and beyond So when it came time to decide who would receive one of the quarterly recognition awards, she was a no brainer. I asked her manager why she was deserving, how she lived our values, and what reward was appropriate. Fast forward to the town hall and over 100 employees gathered to hear from the CEO and celebrate the quarter. Then came time for the awards The scene was set, anticipation was high The trophy was etched with her name I was so excited - this is one of the best parts of my job! The CEO called her name Followed by an uproar of applause All heads turned to her She was overcome with emotion And then…. She burst into tears and ran to the bathroom 😳😳 Turns out she was painfully shy - she did not want to be centre of attention While the other winner paraded around the stage with his trophy held high, she sat in the bathroom crying. Oh how I got that so wrong 😣 It was at that moment that I realised the significance of understanding not just the 'what' and 'why,' but the 'how' when it comes to recognising and acknowledging peoples achievements. While the ‘what’ is important (*flashback to the time we gave a vegetarian a christmas ham 😬*) The 'how' may be even more so Recognition isn't one-size-fits-all. While the grand stage might be perfect for some, others thrive on a more personal, intimate form of acknowledgement. After all, recognition isn't just about celebrating success; it's about making each team member feel seen, valued, and appreciated for who they are and how they contribute. Are the recruiters your company uses happy? Why should that matter? Simple, when you hire a staffing agency that agency is representing YOU to top talent in your market. I don't know about you, but I know that I would want happy and satisfied recruiters representing me and my team. Recruiters are quite often the first impression prospective employees will have of your company and more specifically of you as a leader, so yeah, it's kind of a big deal! Proud of Beacon Hill for our consistent top scores on this list. What has your experience been using staffing partners or recruiters?
We have been honored with a spot on Comparably’s prestigious "Happiest Employees" list. This recognition comes as part of Comparably’s quarterly awards, where Beacon Hill stood out among tens of thousands of companies evaluated. Here we are again with some important highlights:Reward &Recognition, Reward is something given to appreciate employee’s efforts (e.g.employee of the month awards, employee name engraved on small plaque in the hospital lobby, movie ticket and afternoon off etc.). Recognition is acknowledgment of employee effectiveness (e.g.note of thank from one of executives to employee when a goal has been achieved,hand-written thank notes sent to family of individual who has been participating in projects, publicly recognize someone, and just simply round on your staff to say thank you etc,). Thank you beryl institute team.

This is a good article that makes a case for consistent and sincere efforts to communicate to our teams that they are valued and appreciated. I am a strong believer in the value of regular check-ins to ask how things are going and in sincere recognition of both group and individual contributions. “At the end of the day, building a culture of appreciation comes down mostly to a lot of small commonsense practices: Not taking your people for granted. Remembering to say thank-you in a personal and sincere way. Making it clear that you’re interested in your employees’ growth and in them as individuals.”

A recent report from TalentLMS found that 61% of the workforce doesn’t get regular appreciation from their supervisors Is your team in that 61%? In our humble opinion, employee appreciation should be a year-round activity! Sometimes, all it takes to make an employee realize they are appreciated is a gesture of acknowledgment from a manager or supervisor—an award, card, or gift. So if you haven't shown your employees the recognition they deserve lately, here's what you're gonna want to do. 1️⃣ Steal this email template: Hey [Employee's Name], I hope your day is going well! I just wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for all the effort you've been putting into [company name]. Your dedication truly stands out, and we're incredibly thankful to have you as part of our team. As a small token of our appreciation, we've prepared something special just for you. We hope you enjoy it! Thanks again, [Your Name] 2️⃣ Use this promo code and let them pick something special from Loop & Tie 🎁: APPRECIATE10 for 10% off your next 10 gifts now through March 31st to celebrate the wonderfolks in your orbit!

Professional Awards & Recognitions are often fabricated. Previously, I worked for a "Top Workplaces" Company. 4 Years Running. 🎉 That "objective" engagement survey though? - CEO told people how to respond. - Told them it was important we get this award. - Easily one of the most toxic places I've worked. The CEO emailed us INSTRUCTIONS how to respond. To ensure the company received the award. 🙄 And somehow could also view our responses. I only wish I'd kept the receipts 🙃 STUNNED was an understatement. But what do you do? It wasn't a massive company. Don't fill it out? Get a slack asking why you didn't. Fill it out poorly? Can almost assure your departure. And when you don't have power, but you need a job for your family... That's a tough spot to be. So get out when you can. ❤️ Huge Kudos to the organizations that do it right. - Let their employees be humans. - Let their employees speak their truth. - Let their employees gain them real notoriety. Organizations like the one I mentioned? They are Not Like Us. 🎤 P.S. These companies are the same ones that come for former employees if they think you left an honest review highlighting the atrocities. I DO in fact have the receipts on that. (And it wasn't even me 😂)
