This rule is best used on your closet 👕👟 . . This one is yet another rule coined by The Minimalists Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus - yes, the ones who have their own Netflix show. This rule asks you to consider the answer to 2 questions. . . #1 - Have you used this item in the last 90 days? #2 - Will you use this item in the next 90 days? If the answer to both of these questions is, "no", then the item should be donated or discarded. . . Technically you can apply this rule to whatever you want, but our HALO team suggests applying the 90/90 rule to your closet. Whatever you haven't worn in the last 90 days and do not anticipate wearing in the next 3 months, say goodbye to it. . . Clothing that is not ripped, stained or too worn is especially good to donate - and you have your fair share of places to choose from. Second-hand clothing is accepted into donation bins, thrift stores like Goodwill and Value Village, consignment shops and community organizations that organize clothing drives. . . Happy donating! . . #haloteamlove #9090rule #closetcleanout

How to get rid of your #Overstock: My experience Already cut the prices and try all the usual? Here I have more solutions for the excessive items in your store: - First try to return or exchange them if possible, this also will show whether you have good partnerships with your suppliers - Make an excel or pdf offer/linesheet from this stuff and sell them to Off-price stores like Ross, Burlington, or maybe Gabe's will work for you. - The one I prefer: Make a Donation. You will build goodwill making such a contribution. #Clothing #Garments #FashionIndustry

Toms! This awesome shoe company doesn't just sell cool shoes (although they totally do!), they also donate a pair of shoes to a child in need with every single purchase. That's right, with every Toms you buy, a kid who might not have shoes gets a new pair. Talk about feel-good shopping! TOMS started with a simple idea: one for one. Their founder, Blake Mycoskie, was on a trip to Argentina when he saw the impact not having shoes can have on children's health and education. So, he decided to create a for-profit business that could make a difference. TOMS' mission to give back has resonated with people all over the world, and they've donated millions of shoes to kids in need. Pretty inspiring, right? TOMS is a great example of how a company can use business to make a positive impact. So next time you're looking for new shoes, consider checking out Toms and joining their one for one movement! #ecommerce #shoes

A little known secret about making retail donations work for a non-profit is making the intangible, tangible. Assuming that the mass market will just donate without anything in exchange is a quick way to get very few donations. So, how do you do this? You do this by offering something in exchange for your donation. For example: - AARP used to give away a luggage bag for people that commited to monthly donations. - NRA used a gun bag to for people that committed to monthly donations. Several companies sell apparel and tie the dollar amount to a deed, i.e. $1 for 1 pound of trash. Some offer pins, packets, bumper stickers and more. It's amazing what adding something a little tangible can do for someone's value perspection. This also applies to the info space.

Last week, we discussed The Great Wealth Transfer and the fact that our Gen X and Millennial children aren't interested in inheriting all our possessions. This raises the question of what to do with everything. Fortunately, we have several options available to help navigate this situation. First, determine which items you and/or your loved ones want so they can be distributed accordingly. Next, you could also choose to donate your items to worthy organizations. Many of these organizations even offer pickup services directly from your home, making the process hassle-free. You can additionally conduct an online auction with local pickup. Utilize Pinventory to create an inventory, and then leverage our API with MaxSold to set up a catalog and auction your items online. This approach offers a convenient way to downsize with minimal effort on your part. MaxSold handles the marketing and payments once your catalog is set up. Key is that the winners are responsible for packing and picking up their items. Finally, if you have a large volume of items to dispose of, consider utilizing junk services like Junkluggers and 1-800-GOT-JUNK?. These services can come to your location and remove large quantities of items, saving you the trouble of multiple trips to the dump or weeks of traditional trash pickup. Getting rid of items during downsizing is never easy but there are solutions to simplify the process. By exploring these avenues, you can ensure a smooth transition while passing on meaningful items to new homes. #Pinventory #WealthTransfer #DownsizingSolutions #PassingOnPossessions #OnlineAuctions #Donations #JunkServices #DeclutteringJourney #NextChapter #SimplifyTransition

Here you can see we have two garages going at the same time. Pro tip: We start on one wall of every room we are in in order to “take control” of the area. This gives us a place to put all of the things that are being kept, donated, and trash. All staged in separate areas along our newly cleaned out wall space. #downsizing #minimalism #movemanagement #seniormovemanagement #colorado #organizingtips #declutter

Everything you own has had a purpose. Naturally, over time some items no longer serve you. We love seeing those items get repurposed by being donated to someone else who can use and love them! Books, toys, clothing, household items, furniture, you name it. One person’s junk is another person’s treasure 😊 #Repurpose Learn more: https://bit.ly/4cgl3Y1
