🚀 Embarking on a New Challenge: 6 Companies in 30 Days! Exciting news to share on my DSA journey! 🚀 For the past 6 months, I've been diving deep into the world of Data Structures and Algorithms, and now it's time to take things up a notch! I'm thrilled to announce that I'm taking up the "6 Companies 30 Days" challenge by Arsh Goyal on Proelevate. 🌟 This challenge is all about building consistency and tackling some of the most frequent and crucial DSA questions asked by top tech companies. 🔍 Why this Challenge? I believe in the power of consistency and constant improvement. The journey so far has been incredible, and I'm ready to level up! The challenge promises to cover questions that are frequently asked by major tech players, providing a holistic understanding of what it takes to ace those interviews. 💡 What's the Challenge All About? Over the next 30 days, I'll be solving at least 15 DSA questions from each of the six companies listed. Another semester as a teacher at ReDI has been an incredible experience, watching students grow so much in just three months. I highly recommend joining a volunteer team for anyone who's into sharing knowledge. Here are a few of my personal takeaways: - Explaining complex concepts in simple terms can be challenging. Yet, this process helps to structure my thoughts and deliver the essence through analogies that beginners can understand. - The more time you invest in your students, the more rewarding the results, especially when in comes to final results/projects. - The educational process should be enjoyable. While it isn't always about fun, a boring class likely is a waste of time. - One of the most difficult aspects is reminding students to compare themselves to their past "versions", even just a few weeks ago. Rather than feeling discouraged by someone else's progress.

Jack Mills, who focuses on industry strategies at CAEL, recently presented on the Skills-based Education: The Promise, the Reality, and the Future panel at The Future of Learning at Work Summit. The summit was hosted by the Sands Institute for Lifelong Learning at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Jack focused on adult learners and workers and encouraged recognition of both skills and credentials. He pointed out that a key question is which skills and credentials increase earnings, noting that doing so demonstrates that they are valued both by employers and individuals. Drawing on CAEL's industry partnerships in energy/utilities, telecom, and banking, Jack highlighted the importance of employers' guidance in identifying high-value skills and credentials. He also observed that Credit for Prior Learning provides a widely-used way to provide academic credit for skills and credentials earned through experiences that don't provide them and that CAEL's Credit Predictor Pro makes Credit for Prior Learning much easier for colleges and adult learners. Crediting lessons from Full Circle Innovation's work with large companies and colleges (special thanks to Full Circle Innovation's Todd McLees), Jack flagged two things as crucial: aligning AI with organizational goals and metrics and building resilience among employees who may experience AI as a loss of their expertise or experience AI-related changes as exhausting. Leaders from diverse sectors came together to explore apprenticeship, alternative pathways to management, skills-based education, and AI's impact on lifelong learning. From programs to policy, leaders from business, academia, nonprofits, and private equity discussed their perspectives on AI's influence on employment, emphasizing the need for adaptive learning pathways. Jack thanked UPCEA's Amy Claire Heitzman, Ph.D. and The Burning Glass Institute's Carlo Salerno and also Anne Trumbore, Chief Digital Learning Officer at the Sands Institute, who convened the panel. He applauded the Darden School Executive Education and Lifelong Learning team for the excellent conference, bringing together a great group of participants, and arranging things so everyone could enjoy the eclipse! The event emphasized the urgency for lifelong learning providers to innovate and bridge talent gaps in this rapidly evolving landscape. It was a great experience getting the opportunity to speak as part of a tech sales panel at IESE business school in Barcelona, which is one of the highest rated MBA programs in the world, very surreal. The topic was around “navigating a career in B2B tech sales”, and here are a couple of takeaways: 1. Your back ground doesn’t and shouldn’t define you. Meaning that just because your background is not in tech or not in sales per se, that you would not be able to succeed. To the contrary in fact, and a more empowering question you should ask yourself and focus on is “what are the transferable skills that I can take from what I am doing now into this new career I am going to embark on”. 2. B2B sales in an amazing career, everyone on the panel expressed how much they loved the industry, the career opportunity, the financial rewards etc, and even though B2B sales isn’t taught in most colleges around the world it’s an industry that has changed many lives both personally and professionally. 3. However, if you are not hungry to learn and constantly push yourself then B2B sales is probably not for you. Being resourceful, and learning quickly is paramount as the industry is changing and developing so fast, that if you are not able to adapt with the times you will be left behind. 4. Everyone of us on the panel (apart from 2) were a part of different companies selling very different technologies, but the common denominator across all panelist’s is that understanding what problem your product solves for your customer is critical as that at the end of the day is why organisations invest in technology, which is to solve problems and/or capture opportunities. The better you understand the problems your service or product solves, the better you will be able to articulate the value of your solution, and that is what moves money and gets people to invest in you vs your competition.
