FACT: Today is National Aviation Day in honor of Orville Wright's birthday. CONTROVERSY: There has been some debate on which state is worthy of the title "First in Flight". For those who call North Carolina home (such as myself) there may be some bias since the title is due to the legendary 12 second flight on Dec. 17, 1903, at Kill Devil Hills near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. However, Wilbur and Orville spent most of their lives in Dayton, Ohio, where their outlandish idea of human flight were manifested into reality. It was there where those dreams turned to sweat that brought us to where we are today. QUESTION: I'm curious to hear from those who have a passion for aviation - past, present, and future - What state do you believe is most deserving of the title "First in Flight"? Today many may take these amazing machines for granted thanks to the wild ideas of those Wright Brothers. What also may be taken for granted is the crew members needed to operate these jets safely everyday. Do not settle for having "enough to get by" in your flight department. Let your crew get the support and rest they need and reach out to myself and the team at In-Flight Crew Connections should you ever need additional support in any of your business aviation personnel needs. Happy National Aviation Day.
Happy NATIONAL AVIATION Day! National Aviation Day is observed in the United States on August 19 each year to celebrate the history and development of aviation. It also celebrates the birthday of Orville Wright who, together with his brother Wilbur, made significant contributions to powered flight. Orville made the first flight for 12 seconds and 120 feet around the site of Wright Brothers National Memorial on December 17, 1903.

#DidYouKnowFriday Did you know that French was once the official language of England for almost 300 years, from 1066 to 1362? Yes, it's true! After William the Conqueror took over in 1066, French became the language of the ruling class, while regular folks spoke English. But here's another cool thing: France also led the way in aviation! Back in 1909, a Frenchman named Louis Blériot made France's first-ever powered flight. And guess what? They coined some fancy aviation words like "fuselage" and "aileron" that we still use today in English! Fast forward to 1362, and English regained its status as the main language. This happened after some big historical events, like England losing Normandy and getting into a 100-year-long war with France. Recognized Mexico aviation industry expert 🛫 Senior independent consultant 🛫 Multicultural analyst, speaker and writer🛫Uberavgeek🛫
BREAKING! According to sources that chose to remain anonymous, on April 1st there will be a major announcement regarding "Aerodromo Mexiquense Doctor Jorge Jiménez Cantú" (AZP), located in Atizapán de Zaragoza on the outskirts of Mexico City. It is expected this geographically-challenged, little-known airfield will be rebuilt into a thriving commercial airport, thanks to ground-breaking technology applied -and also funded- elsewhere by military engineers. If the above information is accurate, AZP is destined to become the fourth airport within the greater Mexico City metropolitan area, comprised today of MEX, NLU and TLC. While details are still sketchy, rumor is the airport will be developed as a regional airline passenger and cargo hub to capture NLU's traffic spill, in an effort to avoid the total extinction of this local aviation industry's pivotal sector in the largest consumer market in the country. PS: It is also interesting to note this kind of news always appears on April Fool's Day✈️ #avgeek #happyeaster #aviationlovers #breakingaviationnews

I'm an aviation enthusiast|| Aeronautics storyteller|| Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate || RC plane modeller|| Airplane reviewer || Future avionics technologist || DM let's discuss
The Concorde was a groundbreaking supersonic commercial jet that revolutionized air travel. It was jointly developed by British and French manufacturers, with its first transatlantic crossing in 1973 and the commencement of scheduled supersonic passenger service in 1976. The Concorde had a maximum cruising speed of 1,354 mph (Mach 2.04), allowing it to significantly reduce flight times, such as completing the New York to London route in just two hours, 52 minutes, and 59 seconds. Despite its technological advancements and speed, the Concorde faced challenges such as noise, operating expenses, and limited profitability, leading to its retirement in 2003. The aircraft's legacy as a symbol of European cooperation and aerospace innovation remains significant, with some Concorde aircraft preserved in museums worldwide, including the Intrepid Museum in New York. As we prepare to celebrate 80 years of International Civil Aviation Organization, this video speaks about what people imagined aviation to be back in 1944... What do we imagine aviation will be in 80 years time? Me, I see routine, safe, commercial zero-carbon flights
The International Civil Aviation Organization designated 2024 as the Year of Facilitation, in support of our 80th anniversary commemorations. The theme "Seamless Skies: Efficient Facilitation for a Connected World," underscores the critical role of facilitation in shaping the future of global aviation. I would like to thank Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia for hosting this cornerstone event commemorating the International Civil Aviation Organization’s 80th anniversary, bringing together world experts and stakeholders to advance one of ICAO's fundamental objectives: facilitating borderless and efficient air travel. #ICAO80 #FAL2024
