When you think about self-care, what comes to mind? Perhaps spa treatments, massages, vacations, etc.? You are not alone - this is a common misconception! What if we told you, it’s much more than that? It’s an important practice that allows individuals to recharge and prioritize their well-being. Specifically, self-care is any activity that cares for your body, mind, or soul. This could include doing things such as: •          getting extra rest when you’re tired •          eating a proper breakfast instead of skipping it as usual, or •          taking 5 minutes to laugh as you watch a funny cat video What kinds of things do you like to do? Do you put them off because you feel you’re ‘wasting’ valuable time you could put to better use? The thing is, when you do things you enjoy, you’re caring for yourself, which is never wasted time! You are recharging your batteries so you can be the best possible version of yourself. Remember, self-care is not selfish or an indulgence that needs to be earned. It’s a necessary step in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Stephanie's favorite self-care activities include stand-up comedy, quiet time before bed, and getting extra sleep on weekends.
