FLORISTS - We've waited long enough for the sunshine to arrive this summer so I'm definitely not complaining about it but I do want to bring to your attention the impact the warmer temperatures will have on the vase life of your flowers. If you don't have the luxury of refrigerated storage then your flowers are at risk of premature expiry - not just from the heat but from bacteria. The warmer the temperature the faster the pesky bacteria will grow, the more bacteria present in the water, the shorter the vase life. In the image below there are 2 bacterial paddle testers, the one on the right is 1 day old vase water and the paddle on the left is 4 day old vase water. Both are showing high volumes of bacterial colonies. To help reduce bacteria in flower water use FloraLife's DCD cleaner, its a no rinse formula that is active for many days - out performing a standard bleach every time.
