Courage. The act of this single word transformed a cowardly lion into a loving force in The Wizard of Oz. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and I’m reminded of how tough it can be to be courageous sometimes. In my business, there have been times when I’ve gone ’round and ‘round with myself, feeling trepidation by the thought of “what if.” I ask myself, “What if I fail?” I may say, “What if this won’t work.” Then I know I must collect myself and muster the courage to forge ahead, even when the outcome is uncertain. Where are you stepping forward with courage in marketing your business? #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmonth #mentalhealthmatters
It's also about celebrating each step of a win. Some time ago I had somebody cold contact me to do a workplan for their client. They had found me through my content, and in the end, their client decided not to move forward. But in the whole scheme, it wasn't a failure: I had attracted business through my content, and if it had happened once it could happen again, so I saw it as a success of lead generation, if not a new client.
Courage was something I focused on in my prayer time this morning. In marketing- courage for me is to continue showing up with video messaging. I like to second guess that. I need to just keep doing it.
Thanks for the hilarious photo Marc - it's quite memorable. But your message is serious. Those "what ifs" can be energy and confidence killers.
What if I fail… Transform that mindset!! What if you fly?
Fantastic post, Marc Apple (Love the image too!). Courage is a willingness to step out of that safe space and take risks, which more often than not results in rewarding outcomes.
Absolutely love this Marc! Stepping out of our comfort zones is where the magic happens, right? I remember an idea that was so out there, my team thought I lost it. But guess what? It became one of our biggest hits.
This is adorable and hilarious! Do you actually have a lion costume?!??! How did you acquire this costume? Must know. And, can relate so much to this post!
Everyone faces fear Marc Apple . Courage is doing it anyway! I love the picture!

4moI'm chuckling at this image, Marc Apple. I love the playfulness with which you approach your posting ideas. Courage has been on my radar for the last several years. Getting out of my head and leaning into my heart to serve others allows me to get over my fear of showing up.
