We all know the importance money and understanding our finances plays in ensuring we have choices in life. This is one of the reasons we support PMG Funds' Charitable Trust and their financial literacy programme for rangatahi. Listen to Bridget Lem GM PMG Charitable Trust discussing their mahi, with Frances Cook. #education #learners #literacy #financialliteracy #money
Financial inequality is one of our country's biggest issues, yet we are not preparing our children and grandchildren to deal with it. The PMG Charitable Trust was set up specifically to provide young Kiwis with access to the know-how they need to aid their financial futures. Applying this know-how, however, can be another challenge if they lack the hands-on experience and when money is still seen as a "taboo" topic around the dinner table. In her latest #CookingtheBooks podcast episode, Frances Cook caught up with PMG Charitable Trust General Manager Bridget Lem, to look at ways to engage younger generations in conversations around wealth and financial success. Econautics believes that the most critical issues of today are all interconnected. For example, you can't achieve health equity if patients don't have access to clean air to breathe, water to drink, and healthful foods to eat. That's why we are actively seeking out and #learning from other #nonprofits in the City of Fort Worth throughout our #reorganization this year. We are #listening to established nonprofits about their challenges, successes and opportunities. We are working to create new #partnerships and to incorporate this #feedback as we design our programs. #Together, we can create #transformationalchange. This week, we want to say thank you to Taste Project Founder Jeff Williams for his time! If you haven't heard of this awesome organization, Taste Project is a nonprofit with a mission to: "feed, educate, and serve our community so they may “…taste and see the Lord is good.” Psalm 34:8. ...Our first project, a non-profit restaurant, focuses on healthy, quality meals made from fresh ingredients. Our menu has no prices. This is a give and take concept. We ask guests to do one of the following: 1) pay what you can afford, 2) pay what you would typically pay, or 3) pay what you would typically pay, plus a little extra." Learn more on their website https://lnkd.in/gX-3HWxa or check them out at: Taste Community Restaurant 1200 South Main Street Fort Worth, Texas 76104 P.S. - Do you know of an awesome local nonprofit that we should check out? E-mail us at info@econautics.org!

Why August is the Best Time to Enjoy Local Food https://bit.ly/3M0LV2T August can be a bittersweet month. The start of the school year looms, and the weather begins to hint of autumn. Yet, August still embodies so much of what we all love about summer. Long days, warm nights, and good local food. It’s that last part that we like the best! Across multiple states, including Massachusetts and New Hampshire, August is Eat Local Month. Initiatives taken by multiple organizations, restaurants, and farms encourage residents to put their money into the local economy by supporting the people who grow, sell, and cook some of the best food around. Local food is about so much more than what goes on your plate. It’s about making sure our local food systems can survive and thrive! So we’re shining a light on how New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts make August the best time of year to eat local food. Let’s dig in! Live Free and Eat Local in NH With a nickname like “The Granite State,” you might be tricked into thinking the ground beneath New Hampshire is nothing more than solid rock. The state’s soil is rocky, but that doesn’t mean it can’t support a local food system. In fact, New Hampshire has one of the most diverse and energetic local food scenes in all of New England....
