#Ghana's journey to transform its rich minerals into a valuable commodity is gaining momentum with a landmark partnership. GIADEC, the driving force behind Ghana's Integrated #Aluminium Industry (IAI) vision, has teamed up with MYTILINEOS Energy & Metals to deliver Project 3A. This ambitious project will see the construction of a state-of-the-art alumina refinery alongside the development of a #bauxite mine in the Ashanti Region. This project marks a turning point for Ghana, as it will finally capture the true value of its bauxite by refining and smelting it within the country. Currently, Ghana relies on imported alumina for its aluminum production. Project 3A is expected to create a self-sufficient aluminum industry, boosting the economy and creating jobs: https://lnkd.in/djc-_qq5 #Ghana #Aluminum #IAI #MYTILINEOS #GIADEC

Saudi Arabia plans to invest 182 million dollars in the exploration of critical minerals to diversify its economy, mainly based on oil and gas exports. The Gulf state recently raised the estimated value of its untapped mineral potential by 90 percent to 2.5 trillion dollars, based partly on new discoveries of rare earths. At the Future Minerals Forum, which is currently taking place in the Arab capital of Riyadh, it was also decided to strengthen cooperation in the raw materials sector with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Morocco, and Russia. #rawmaterials #criticalminerals #rareearths #saudiarabia #energytransition

Saudi Arabia has proposed a 15% investment in Pakistan’s Reko Diq copper and gold project, along with grants for road infrastructure around the site. The Special Investment Facilitation Council has approved the investment structure, but final approval rests with the Cabinet Committee on Intergovernmental Transactions. Pakistan anticipates up to $5 billion in Saudi investments in the mining and agriculture sectors by next year. The Reko Diq project, one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper-gold mines, was revived after an $8 billion agreement in December between Pakistan, Barrick Gold, and the federal and Balochistan governments. Mining is expected to begin in 2028, pending the feasibility study. #RekoDiqProject #SaudiInvestment #CopperGoldMining #InfrastructureDevelopment #EconomicGrowth
