How do you make the enchantment of Percy Jackson stand out in one of LA’s busiest intersections? The formula is simple: amazing leadership at The Walt Disney Company + an anamorphic 3D billboard + the most imaginative Image Engineers in the game = pure magic. Our forward-thinking client sought to use this innovative advertising platform to highlight the iconic elements of the franchise. Armed with a treasure trove of green screen footage, we got to work, crafting experimental visuals around the series' most recognizable symbols. The lightning bolt was the ideal the focal point for a couple reasons: it draws the eye to our lead's face and evokes the title of the beloved first novel. By deeply understanding our client’s story and rich history, not just their visual goals, we created a dynamic image that struck commuters where they stood and surely lit up their day. The numbers are in — domestic revenue for the 2024 summer box office hit an estimated $3.67 billion, down 10.3 percent over 2023, according to final numbers issued Tuesday by Comscore. As counterintuitive as it may seem, Hollywood studio executives and theater owners aren’t panicking. Sony’s June offering Bad Boys: Ride or Die set into motion a major reset and a two-month box office recovery that made the “sins of the past disappear quickly in the rear-view mirror,” says Comscore analyst Paul Dergarabedian. “The reversal of fortune for theaters in the middle months of the summer season was astonishing and a lesson in how unpredictable and yet resilient this industry has always proven itself to be despite the negative Chicken Little prognostications that occur every time there is a box office downturn,” says Dergarabedian. https://lnkd.in/gpqaefvN
