Moments where we are able to share major achievements in Mars’ sustainability journey are always meaningful. Our new 2023 Sustainable in a Generation Report reveals a historic milestone: Mars has achieved an unprecedented 8% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2023 alone, doubling our total GHG reduction to 16% since 2015. We’re on track to deliver on our goal of a 50% GHG reduction across our entire value chain by the end of the decade. In the face of significant growth—over 60%—to more than $50 billion in annual sales, we have been able to decouple carbon emissions from business growth. Our progress is not merely a statistical victory but a validation of our strategy to drive solid growth while reducing our environmental impact.
