Since eye and vision problems can become worse over time, early diagnosis and treatment are essential to optimize children’s eye health and prevent future vision loss. Children often don’t know how they should see or feel and may not report if something is wrong. The AOA recommends parents begin eye care early to combat the growing number of children struggling with eye and vision problems: https://ow.ly/fANe50QHPFX

#ChildrensEyeHealthAndSafetyMonth: What is X-linked retinoschisis (XLRS)? XLRS causes the splitting of retinal layers, leading to the degeneration of photoreceptors, resulting in the loss of central and peripheral vision. As an X-linked disease, it primarily affects males and is typically diagnosed during childhood. But there’s hope and a supportive community! Learn more about living with XLRS and the groundbreaking research on our website at: https://gag.gl/DwhQFG Image Description: Dark blue background with Spotlight on Children's Eye Health and Safety Month logo in top left corner with text below reading "Did you know? As we celebrate Independence Day and the freedoms it represents, I'm reminded of the importance of securing justice for individuals who are unjustly harmed, whether through a car accident, nursing home neglect, civil rights violation, or crime, holding wrong doers accountable, and the work we still need to do. This work is about more than just legal victories; it’s about restoring human dignity and ensuring that every individual feels heard, validated, and is made whole. Last week, I secured $288 million in verdicts, bringing my career total to over a billion dollars. I'm profoundly thankful for this impact and the opportunity to bring justice for so many over the course of my career. The below represents an aggregate of verdicts I was able to secure for strong women, who stood up to a pediatrician who sexually abused them while they were young girls. Sexual abuse is so pervasive in our society. In fact, every 68 seconds, someone in America is sexually assaulted, with young black girls, members of the BIPOC community, children, seniors, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community disproportionately affected. As we celebrate Independence Day, let's unite to eliminate sexual abuse, and hold all wrong doers accountable, and ensure freedom and dignity for all. If you have been harmed in anyway, and you want justice and healing, or just have questions, feel free to reach out. If I can’t assist you, I’ll point you to resources that can. #IndependenceDay #Freedom #Justice #Survivors #HumanDignity #BIPOC #TransRights #ChildProtection #LegalVictory #SexualAssaultAwareness
Kristen Gibbons Feden of Anapol Weiss and Michael Della of Gruenberg Kelly Della have represented more than 100 survivors who filed suit against ex-doctor Stuart Copperman. They've just won another $288 million in judgments against the pediatrician and have now surpassed $1 billion in verdicts! Learn more about Kristen here: https://lnkd.in/ekub8P_i
