Good points about fundraising communications (and persuasive communication) in this piece about successful fundraising by companies who simply ask customers to round up their bills for charity. 1. Seek donors whose thinking is already aligned with yours. (Example: PetSmart invites customers to donate to animal care charities.) 2. Warm up your like-minded potential supporters with conversation that validates their interests. (Example: REI employees chat with customers about their outdoor adventures, priming them to give to make outdoor experiences more accessible to diverse populations. ) 3. Many small expressions of support can add up to one big impact. (Domino's raised more than $126 million over 20 years for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by inviting customers to round up. )

I wonder how many of you reading this can really answer the questions: 'What is Hospice Care?' and 'How do Hospice Isle of Man make the difference to those who need their services?' (And whilst we're on that subject... 'Who can use the services offered by Hospice Isle of Man?') This article is a great intro to the world of hospice care and the struggles faced by Hospice Isle of Man, along with many other charities across the Island, when looking at sustainability for the future. Educating yourself about the positive impact Hospice Isle of Man has on the Island's community (and perhaps challenging some of your initial thoughts!) is so important for your (and your loved one's) future. I can hand on heart say I had only scratched the surface with my understanding of its purpose but feel so much more comfortable should a loved one need their services in the future (and will be well equipped to advise on how to make the most of what is available!). Recent data from Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap report shows that food insecurity has increased 30% across our service territory, meaning an additional 80,000 neighbors are newly food insecure. Within our 27-county service territory alone, nearly 350,000 neighbors, including 100,000 children face food insecurity. State-funded anti-hunger programs are critical investments that are required to enable the distribution of charitable food to millions of children, families, and seniors across Pennsylvania. Despite the level-funding of these core nutritional programs, CPFB will continue to advocate for our neighbors facing hunger. #nonprofit #foodbank #centralpafb
