It takes exceptional materials to keep planes soaring, satellites orbiting and space technology thriving. Conventional metals just don’t have the right properties to perform in those extreme environments. That's where our metal matrix composites (MMCs) come in. Stronger, stiffer, and lighter than the competition, our MMCs deliver unmatched reliability and performance when failure isn’t an option. 🛰️Sidus Space Begins Payload Activation Upon Successful Completion of Commissioning Phase of LizzieSat-1 LS-1 was successfully launched and deployed via #SpaceX Falcon 9 from #Vandenberg SLC-4 on March 4, 2024. The Sidus team successfully completed the Launch and Early Operations Phase (LEOP) on March 14th after establishing two-way communications with the orbiting spacecraft and receiving NORAD ID 59132 from USSPACECOM as a permanently catalogued space object called “LizzieSat”. After LEOP, the Sidus Mission Control Center (MCC) team transitioned to the commissioning phase, conducting thorough performance evaluations of all critical subsystems. The Sidus MCC team activated each critical spacecraft component individually and as part of the entire system to verify satisfactory performance after two months in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Firefly Aerospace has recently partnered with the Pentagon's commercial technology arm (DIU) to explore the potential of their Elytra orbital vehicle for missions beyond geosynchronous Earth orbit. This collaboration supports DIU's Sinequone project, which strives to provide cost-effective and responsive access to cislunar space through launch and orbital transfer services. According to Nathan Gapp, DIU program manager, this “will enable the government to evaluate the technical feasibility and operational effectiveness of the company’s responsive launch and delivery capabilities,”. Following the study the aim is for Firefly to deliver three to six orbital vehicles for one or more launches to orbits in cislunar space. #SpaceExploration #InnovationInSpace #Aerospace https://bit.ly/3TUIa3G

🚀 The recent #Falcon9 upper-stage glitch and the loss of 20 #Starlink satellites highlight the unpredictable nature of space missions. Because why should space missions be any different from trying to assemble IKEA furniture? While this delay shows that we can’t control everything, it gives operators a chance to polish their #LEOP prep. Mastering what we can control helps mitigate risks and ensure mission success. 📡📍"Where is my spacecraft?" Find your #spacecraft in the batch and make first contact. Using dedicated observation data, we can reduce the time to first orbit observation (#TLE, #OEM) to hours. How? Drop us a request 👉https://lnkd.in/d5X6iXCc 🛰️ Safely prepare and execute the first #maneuvers. 🎯 Aim for your target #orbit with top accuracy. Let’s learn, adapt, and ensure our future missions are as smooth as a perfectly executed moonwalk.
