Our 2023 Corporate Citizenship Report dropped last week. Sustainability work is led from the trenches and supported by colleagues across the business. This report is the result of the work of leaders at sites around the globe, from Chennai, to Fradley (UK), to Winchester (Virginia). It also highlights the work of our Product and Packaging team to implement an industry-leading Design for Sustainability program to bring life cycle thinking to product design. Last, as anyone in the sustainability space knows, gathering the data to share our emissions footprint, plastic packaging usage, and countless other data points measuring our progress with the world is no small task. The report celebrates our accomplishments, but most importantly it celebrates the dedication of Newell colleagues around the world. A few highlights from 2023: > 38% reduction in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions at our global manufacturing sites since 2016 > 28% of energy at our Reynolds Pens Chennai, India site came from a new rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) installation > 96% of plastic packaging by weight was EPS-free > 0.52 Global Recordable Incident Rate achieved, reflecting a world class safety record This report would not have been possible without contributions from: Elizabeth McMillan, Adam Brandimore, Lauren Jones, Sarah Rogers. Elizabeth Wallner, Dave Hartter, Victor Zamudio, Natalie Bachner, MBA, Clare Muti, Melissa Teesdale, Chad Biele, Danielle Clark, Terri Sampsel, Christina Moylan and many more.
