Great collaboration result with the group of Jean-Michel Menard in experimentally proving the creation of a quantum material, resulting from the hybridization of a terahertz cavity field with glucose. A particularly interesting "hybrid" design of the cavity is assumed, where a metasurface is interfaced with a standard mirror. This is an experiment-theory effort facilitated by the Max Planck - University of Ottawa Centre for Extreme and Quantum Photonics, established by University of Ottawa and the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light.
