Each McGill office was invited to attend a virtual event hosted by McGill’s Young Professionals group in honor of Women in Engineering Day. We were honored to hear from Stephanie Slocum, a trailblazer for women in the engineering field. We learned so many practical tips for building “unshakable confidence”. Each attendee received a copy of Stephanie’s book, She Engineers, and enjoyed lunch together. Thank you, Stephanie, for sharing with us and we can’t wait to dive into the book. #ShapingCommunitiesTogether #internationalwomeninengineeringday

In today's blog post, Srikari Rallabandi addresses the relevance of the Women in Engineering (WE) program. She aims to dispel any misconceptions and highlight the program's objectives. With her personal experiences and insights, she explores the motivation behind the program, the need for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the larger goals it seeks to achieve. As society strives for diversity in engineering, it's important to consider the societal barriers, stereotypes, and unique challenges faced by women. Through the WE program, women are empowered with technical enablement, economic support, and crucial emotional guidance to overcome these hurdles and fulfill their potential. Srikari Rallabandi encourages readers to join the conversation and share their thoughts and comments. Let's strive for a more balanced, equitable, and inclusive society for everyone. As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's recognize the invaluable contributions of women in engineering. They bring innovative perspectives that drive progress and solve complex challenges. However, despite progress, women still face significant barriers in the field. It's our collective responsibility to dismantle these barriers, creating a more inclusive and equitable environment where women's talents and contributions are celebrated and nurtured. Let's use this day as a reminder of our commitment to empowering women in engineering. By mentoring, sponsoring, and advocating for women in our field, we can build a more diverse, innovative, and inclusive engineering community. To all the women in engineering, your perseverance, creativity, and vision inspire us daily. Here's to continuing to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and pave the way for future generations of women engineers. #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInEngineering #DiversityInSTEM

Yesterday was International Women in Engineering Day and this year the theme was “Enhanced by Engineering.” The focus this year was to spotlight the women engineers that enhance lives every day. According to the Women’s Engineering Society, only 16.5% of engineers are women and we want to change that. It is a part of our mission to make space for women in the industry and champion the women that ensure the delivery of our expert service at Artic. If you would like to learn more about the women at Artic and what we are doing to make space for women in STEM, check out our article on International Women in Engineering Day: https://lnkd.in/d3X46ZNF Let’s celebrate women in engineering together! #INWED24 #facilitymanagement
