Walking the talk on Intellectual Humility, Veracity, and Mentorship. It is intellectually humbling and satisfying, and most importantly, morally compelling, in my view, to recognize and acknowledge persons who shaped your interests, career, and most importantly, your way of seeing the world of science and global health. I take this singular opportunity to acknowledge Venkatraman Chandra-Mouli who spurred my interest in adolescent sexual reproductive health. Indeed, your high level and impactful scholarly contributions in adolescent sexual reproductive health and rights, intellectual humility, mentorship, and the uniqueness of the how you blend theory and practice remain inspirational to me, and I imagine, a many others who have either interacted with you, or read your work. I remember like yesterday the first time I read your blog post in BMC Reproductive Health on : Adolescents Are Sexual Beings, and most recently, the methodological uniqueness in using positive deviance approaches to operationalize and answer complex research and policy relevant questions in the field for your PhD thesis. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say Thank You. Venkatraman Chandra-Mouli Global Health Otherwise

📢 A recent study published in PLOS ONE definitively shows the consequences of violence on women's sexual and reproductive health. Our researcher Diogo Costa and other colleague from Bielefeld University analysed data from over 3,000 German women and found a strong correlation between exposure to violence and an increased risk of abortion and miscarriage. These findings demand immediate action to address violence as a serious public health issue. Read the full story 👇 #WomensHealth #ViolencePrevention #HealthResearch #WeAreCEDH

Interested in knowing why and how to create an #evidencegapmap? Interested in #sexual and #reproductive #health and #rights? Join our webinar/workshop on 23 April! This workshop is a condensed version of 3ie’s Introduction to Evidence Gap Maps (EGM) course using the example of the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) EGM. Adapted to the needs of World Health Organization #EVIPnet members, it will provide participants with a practical application of the steps involved in producing EGMs, including scoping, searching, data extraction, and analysis. While users may not be able to create a map on their own after such a short course, it will strengthen their basic skills and competencies in using and producing EGMs to inform research agendas and programmatic decision-making. At the end of the webinar, participants working in or interested in SRHR will be invited to participate in a follow-up session to help prioritize topics for evidence synthesis and gauge interest in collaborating on spin-off research projects. Participants will also be provided a participation certificate 👉 Register here: https://lnkd.in/guCNksqv

From the post of #ippfeseaor... a joint article with Organon! As we gear up for #InternationalWomensDay, let's explore the transformative power of prioritising young people's sexual and reproductive health. With the Asia Pacific region being home to around two-thirds of the world's youth, the need for enhanced sexual and reproductive health services and education has never been more urgent. Reducing adolescent unintended pregnancies can lead to remarkable health and economic outcomes, but achieving this requires our collective commitment to collaboration and investment. #SRHR4ALL #IWD2024 #InvestInWomen
