Program Manager for Unmanned Airborne Lidar & Imagery Acquisition

McKim & Creed, Inc.'s Aerial Mapping group had a busy few days in Wilmington, NC this week acquiring high-density airborne lidar and digital imagery for two sites. Lidar acquisition occurred at 80m AGL, 60% side overlap and 16 m/s. As flown, between these two sites, we acquired over 800 acres with about 2h and 15min of time on the line. As a best practice, our acquisition planning always begins by applying a 200ft buffer to the client provided boundary. There are several reasons for this: a. Ensuring there are no gaps or voids at the edge of the project boundary b. Provides flexibility in placement of control and aerial targeting c. All turn data occurs outside the project limits and can be removed in pre-processing Have a project you would like to discuss? Please feel free to reach out. #aerialmapping #surveying #lidar #photogrammetry #remotesensing #UAS #control #aerialtargeting

Nice looking Lidar there. Be interested to hear how you are liking the Wingtra/RESEPI combo Ravi? Appears to be a great match all things considered.

Sounds good, how many GCP and Check points for 800 acres ? According to the new ASPRS standards accuracy?
